I think you could find 12 impartial New Yorkers who would vote to convict on state crimes.
The odds are that there will be some fanatical Trump supporters in the jury pool and unless they've posted pro-Trump sh*t on social media, it will be impossible to weed them out and it only takes one to get a hung jury.
This would be the trial of the century. I would expect jury selection to be comprehensive and meticulous. Closet m@ga-babies would be outed.

Would be a hoot trying to figure out who the NYC Republicans in the jury pool are.
Any white person from Staten Island would be DQd by the prosecution, anyone from Manhattan would be booted by the defense.
not sure if it's a NYC or NYS trial pool though.

It doesn't really matter. By 2030, nobody will want to buy a gas powered car for transportation. They will only be for hobbyists and nostalgia. Kind of like horses are today.
And overall, only wealthy individuals will want to own their own car. It will be a lot cheaper to hail a robotaxi when you want to go somewhere.

you have to wonder what's going to happen to all that real estate freed up by vanished gas stations. I suspect many have serious leakage and environmental liability too.

Something else to realize is that in U.S history there has never been a defendant like what Trump would be. In high profile cases the identity of jurors always leaks out. If I was in charge, I would take a pass on prosecuting Trump as I wouldn't want to put citizens in danger.

The criminal investigation now being done by the NY County DA (Cy Vance) would result in a criminal trial in NY County, which is only Manhattan. That's where the jury pool would come from. There is also a civil investigation being done by the NY State Attorney General. I don't know where that would end up going to trial if it went to trial.
If it was a federal prosecutor going after Trump, the jurisdiction is a little different and the jury pool might come from multiple counties.
Although Manhattan is certainly a liberal place, and on balance Trump is not too popular there, it does have some conservative elements to it. Think about Wall Street types, lawyers, corporate execs. Manhattan has some very affluent residents, and they tend to be more conservative. In my opinion, Trump has a better chance of getting favorable jurors in Manhattan than in either the Bronx or Brooklyn.

Not coincidentally, GM announced acceleration of the electric vehicle roll out plan last week.
https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/general-motors/2020/11/19/gm-electric-vehicles-investment/6342191002/Even back when Trump rolled back the EPA mileage standards there was some push back from the domestic auto manufacturers as they recognize the rest of their world market is moving on.

They try mob cases in front of anonymous juries and I've never heard of any jurors' identity leaking out or any harm coming to a juror. I don't even know if Trump's case would qualify for an anonymous jury.
A Trump criminal trial in Manhattan would be an absolute circus, though.

Yeah, environmental cleanup is going to be a huge task for the foreseeable future. It will create a ton of jobs.
Even if dramatic progressive legislation does not happen under Biden, it's nice to see that he will appoint competent, experienced people at every level.
The US may even get back some respect around the world that it lost under Trump.
Hilarious!!!!!
Democrats believing Trump will be in jail.
Hahahahahaha!!!!
Trump is only going to get richer while undermining the democrat government.
Going to be fun. 80+ million will be ignoring the democrat edicts. And those 80+ million are well armed.
Democrats lose again!!!
Not sure about that.

I believe your first statement to be true, your second to be false. People love cars and owning one creates a sense of freedom and independence. Cars are often part of people's self expression. Public transportation is quite rational already and people still own cars, even in places where it doesn't make sense like NYC. What about the suburbs?
Also, I'm much more convinced by battery/electric motor technology than I am with computer drivers; we were supposed to have self-driving cars all over the place 3 or 4 years ago. They keep pushing it back year after year. I do think they'll eventually get it right so this isn't my main objection but it's something to consider.
I don't particularly care one way or the other (on the robotaxis that is - electric cars are great). I only drive about 5000 miles a year myself - my 2014 Passat has 30,500 miles, so I'd be a prime candidate for robotaxis if they're cheap. I just don't think people will give up their cars. Time will tell.
Finally, Trump is a villain and the GOP is all but engaged in sedition.

Even now, I am finding it incomprehensible that anyone actually believes Trump about anything. He strikes me as both the most self centered person and the most completely ridiculous liar I have ever seen. How could anyone not see through that within 10 seconds? I honestly cannot comprehend it.
Okay, then let me try this again. You think Trump is the most completely ridiculous liar because what he says contradicts with the "external" reality. And that's how you use words. (Describing what exists outside of your own head.)
But that's not how Trumpers use words. They use words to express their gut feeling. Whether their words are consistent with the observable reality is entirely irrelevant to them. They think Trump is "honest" because they believe he always "speaks his mind." (In reality, that's not always the case, he thinks his followers are "disgusting" people.)
So how does he convince his followers he always speaks his mind? Because he says so many blatantly offensive things that no calculating person would ever say. If he is eager to talk about his sexual fantasy about his own daughter on national TV, he must be always candid about how he feels.
And they know how self-centered he is. But their premise is every person, especially every politician is self-centered. But other politicians pretend to care about other people. Trump is open about how self-centered he is. And that makes him more credible.
It's like the best way to disguise your crime is to do it openly, like asking for foreign governments to interfere with elections on national TV. Trumpers would not believe it's illegal because he was doing it so openly.
So Tony Blinken will be the Secretary of States and Janet Yellen will be the Secretary of Treasury.
It looks like Michele Flournoy will be the Secretary of Defense.
Who will be the Attorney General? I have seen interesting suggestion: Merrick Garland.
TRUMP GIVES UP!!!!!

Trump is a defense attorney's worst nightmare. He can't keep his mouth shut and would undermine his case with tweets, lies, and a constantly changing story. Putting him on the witness stand would be a prosecutor's dream.
