And never mind the past, I'll use the last 4 years to prove my point. How easy would it have been for him to appear more in control, more modest, more in the middle? He took an idea about why he won in 2016 and kept running the same exact play, never ever learning a single thing from it all. He could have been easily running away with the election just by having pretended to be less unhinged, but he couldn't even figure that out. He just had to let the smarter people run with decisions. He has zero discipline and he really is a lot dumber than we all think... cancer-causing windmills, bombing hurricanes, injecting bleach.. come on, man!

1) He got himself elected president in his first campaign. He destroyed the R field in the primary like they were butter. He served up a massive upset in the general. He did that on his own, trusting his instincts, underfunded. He has no reason to believe he should trust experts after going with his gut for so long. . Remember they all told him to drop out after Access Hollywood. Instead, Trump put his head down and accelerated. That's the model he uses: When in trouble just keep going and trust his gut. It's served him well through A LOT of trouble.

So again, I'll give him credit for being an opportunist, but lets be real the stars aligned for him in 2016 (help from Putin and Comey, and HRC dislike) and his tactics would have blown up bigly any other time.

2) He has been relevant to US business for 40 years, in multiple fields. That's very, very rare. Esp for a real estate guy to survive all the booms and busts. He knows how to survive. He survives unethically and illegally, but he survives. I see no reason why that will change now. Unless he is convicted of a serious, non-pardoned, non campaign-finance crime. (civil stuff doesn't matter)

I give him credit for surviving, but he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth so not the biggest accomplishment in the world. As FP has said many times, he could have made more money investing in an S&P index. He really sucked in real estate, always underwater and never owning anything. I was under the impression that he still had substantial wealth from the Apprentice but as we know now he blew all that too. It was easier to survive when he lived in his smaller real estate and TV bubbles. There is a reason why he was quoted during the Mueller investigation as having said "I'm fvcked". He knows the presidency has exposed him like never before. He was elusive in the past but he catapulted himself into a massive bulls eye. I agree probably no jail time, but he's going to be crippled and he has $900m of debt due next year. This is going to be an OJ style self-destruction.

Well that's my point: Trump is a survivor and will always find, somehow, the opportunity. He's been able to do that his whole professional life. And I see no real reason to expect that will change now. Unless the law comes down on him too hard. That's a new one for him at this level. No corrupt NYS politician will save him now in exchange for a $20k donation - instead they want to build a career on destroying trump.

He had REALLY better mind his Ps and Qs after losing the election (and before even) lest there are additional charges that land him in prison for a very long time. He is for sure capable of trying something VERY illegal to try to retain power.

Trumps victory and a Trump White House has signified victory and supremacy for his followers.

IF he loses, then pretty much all of that is gone over night.
