And Manafort can finally finish that book report on “Crime and Punishment.” It’s just so much more meaningful when you read it FROM prison!

Will this thread reach 60000 posts over the weekend? Stay tuned, Trump trolls and haters!
In the original Russian, of course!
As for Melania as First Lady, the saying is that no one minds the church saving a whore, but I don’t want her to lead the choir the first night!

You failed to grasp the intent of the posts. I am not surprised.
They babble on endlessly when the news is bad for trump. Lately that’s been happening a lot.
They babble on to divert from Giuliani traveling to Urkaine to request that they spy on Trump's enemies, starting with really scary Joe Biden. That is called criminal collusion, and committing treason.

Trump doesn't know anything about that. He is innocent. No collusion. Game over. Neener, neener.
Ha ha, just to make sure we know trump’s a traitor. Unbelievably stupid, even by his low standards.

Trumpers are offended by everything. They want to live in a little snowflake world where they are the Master Race, fat chance!
Incorrect! The term "snowflake" applies solely to you libs.
Liberals created this whole PC culture. FB and Twitter both founded and led by liberal CEOs, have banned many conservatives on both platforms. Censoring opposing viewpoints is not the road we should be taking.
Incorrect, snowflake. You wish you could sensor me.

Nope. Not lying. I do not lie.
Never lied to your children about Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc.?
What a quandary.
If Flagpole says he lied to his kids or perpetuated the lie then he can no longer say he never lies.
OTOH, if he says he didn’t lie to them, he portrays himself as a horrible parent who denied his children one of the true joys of childhood.
My guess is he lies about whatever his answer is.

I'm quite a fan of Kierkegaard

Everything would change. Life would have no meaning.
One of these things is not like the other.
Very poor logic Racket.
One of my favorite novelists is Douglas Adams. I don't have to buy into his atheism to be a fan.
I'm not sure Kierkegaard would agree that there can be meaning apart from God. It's been a very long time since I studied him as well. But at the time he was one of my favorites. Feel free to elucidate further if you disagree.

OK well I didn't expect someone so passionate about Russian Lit to be prowling the Trump thread (...or did I?). If I ever get a hankering to read it again then I'll look into the various translations. I didn't know it was such a polarizing topic but a quick Google search shows it indeed is.
And I still think Fat Hurts should read it
I would venture to guess that Flagpole is the most well-versed on Russian Lit of anyone here. (Or at least he will make that claim).
Nope. If I am, then that means no one here knows much. I have read stuff by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky (I prefer this spelling) and some political stuff by Lenin, but I am far from an expert on Russian Literature, AND not really a fan of it.

I do choose my beliefs . . .
Actually you don't. If a concept meets your standards for believability--and those standards may be wholly or partly unconscious--it COMPELS your belief. You couldn't not believe it if you tried.
Flip side: If a concept fails to meet those standards then you CANNOT believe it. You might talk and act as though you do but of course that's not the same thing as genuine belief.
Religious belief (or unbelief for that matter) is not a choice. It's possible that you might be able to choose whether or not to *follow* your religious beliefs but that's different.
BS.
You completely discount both faith and free will.
It looks like the Democratic voters have made their choice and that is Biden. I knew it (great choice by the way) and I’m sure most of you did too. I will say this, it’s going to be a fun campaign and an incredibly close election. Good luck to all!
I’ll admit, this is who President Trump DOES NOT want to face. I’m nervous about it. GO TRUMP!!!

No, he posted what he meant subconsciously. He wants someone to put a sensor in him. An electrode up the butt. And then power on! Cheap trills.
