Trump will not going to finish his term, eventually end up in prison. So why are we talking about his 2020 electability?

The same could have been said about Reagan or Clinton at the time but they were made of Teflon.
Politicians care only about their side. So long as Trump stays around 80% or more approval by his base he won’t be convicted by the Senate. And he won’t be indicted while he’s president.

Absolutely correct. My guess is it would take a job approval number of ~ 73% among GOP voters for the Senate to act.
While I think it is unlikely forTrump to go that low, it is possible. If we have another lengthy (defined as some federal workers missing at least 1 paycheck) partial government shutdown, Trump is toast. My bet is we would see action by GOP Senators and the RNC at that point.
We are no where near this yet....we still have two weeks to see what happens.
Trump’s people say at least Friday before everyone gets paid, a huge problem for them & trump & the party, now & for awhile. Plus over 100K contractors, plus dependents, plus whomever they would have spent the money with. They won’t forget or forgive, especially because shut-em-down don keeps threatening MORE! Political suicide.
I think Biden/Beto gets it done. Joe promises to only serve one term, which does away with the worries of his age. Sets Beto up for a run in 2024.
The ticket just needs to be likable to beat Trump.

Yeah, that could work. We’ll see soon enough. Do you think Trump will face a primary challenge?
This shut down or wall talk with have no influence on an election that is more than a year and a half away.
Too many news cycles between now and then.
Just like DACA being stripped or even child separation was nearly forgotten by this past fall’s election.
Even the Kavanaugh headings just weeks before the election seemed to not be a voting issue.
If Trump is on the ballot November 2020 then his suppporters will be emboldened by him surviving the investigation.

Sure it will. There’s so much content for political ads and debate topics that it will be a field day for Democrats. It will be a reminder about what a continuing Trump presidency means. No president in our lifetime has had so many negative talking points.

Going to be hilarious when the dust settles and Hillary is your nominee again.

Of course it’s not front page news. It doesn’t fit the narrative.
Keep your head in the sand.
It fits Fox News' narrative like a glove. Why aren't they talking about it 24/7?

I think you’re making my point.
Trump has so many negative talking points that this one shutdown won’t be the subject that sways the election for anyone.
A lot has happed and a lot more will happen over the over the next 22 months.

That't not much coverage for something that would be truly explosive if true.

Trump has some negative points, but we already know who he is. Kamala just announced her intent days ago and you suggested she will run with integrity. Ooops .... it is now coming out she had an extramarital affair. Skeletons in all the closets of you Dems.
Dont think any of the names entered so far are locks to beat Trump. Biden probably stands the best chance.
The undeclared Bloomberg would probably win the general election but won't get the Democrat nomination.

And yet...that doesn't respond to anything, does it? It's not a refutation of what was previously posted.
I realize you folks aren't big on "facts" and "logic," but didn't it strike you as--at the least--odd that a story about tens of thousands of illegal voters, in a single state, wasn't the biggest thing in this country's news, eclipsing even the Trump Shutdown? Didn't it make you think that, just possibly, there was a little more to the story than was in that snippet from Fox?
It didn't? Really? That says more about you than it does about the story itself, or about Fox for that matter.
Although Trump has run with thousands of false stories I find the Texas voter fraud one to be especially disgusting. Considering that voter fraud is extremely rare I was skeptical about 58,000 non-citizens voting in Texas and it appears the claim is false. Trump, however, tweets it as a fact and adds that it is only the tip of the iceberg. From his perspective, doesn't he realize it might be too good to be true and have someone fact check it before he sends out a tweet about it? And the premise itself is illogical. If I'm not a citizen, I know that my one vote has no effect on the election so why would I risk deportation? And if tens of thousands of illegal voters are getting mobilized by the Dems, good luck keeping it a secret.
Is Trump too stupid to question anything or does he assume his base won't google it so it doesn't matter anyway.
Here is a Washington Post story that voting fraud in Texas may be very real:
