Referencing a critical article in the Economist that lamented Trump’s inability to succinctly ascribe an overarching principle
What? How is that possible? He's a genius.
To be fair, it's not just Trumpy who's a genius on this topic; it's the entire Republican Party! They're all 100% sure that a plan to massively cut taxes on the wealthy, disembowel the federal safety net, and eliminate oversight of Wall Street will lead to yuge economic growth.
Trump is clearly the most pressing problem at the moment, but the essential problem is the entire Republican party. There is no better example of this than what just happened in Oklahoma.
The legislature has been stuffed full of stupid nutjobs who, like Trump, don't know anything about the law or government. They just passed a measure (which was "accidentally" added as an amendment to a child abuse prevention bill) that requires losers of civil court cases to pay the legal fees of their opposition.
In other words, when an oil and gas operation in Oklahoma has a chemical spill that leads to people getting sick, the victims who sue now also get to pay (or have to worry about paying) the corporation's high-priced attorney's fees should the Republican-selected judiciary decide that the corporation isn't really at fault. This overturns literally centuries of legal precedent in America. The Governor KNEW that this sh*t sandwich was in the bill by the time it got to her desk and she signed it anyway.
On a related note: much like Kansas, Oklahoma's finances are in the gutter because of years of tax cuts and bad budgeting practices spearheaded by Republicans who thought they were stimulating economic growth.
