I'm a HS runner that was just diagnosed with a stress fracture in my 3rd metatarsal. The doctor said I would be out of running for at least 6 weeks-2 months. My winter season is over now and my school's training for spring track would already start. Should I skip spring track and train on my own for cross country and 5ks in general using Jack Daniels running formula or should I join back being out of shape? Also, how do I effectively recover and try to maintain my current level of fitness?
