Tannehill is out against the Steelers this weekend. That will definitely help Steelers make it past the first round.

The problem is trying to win on the road at Arrowhead AND Gillette on consecutive weeks. Those are notoriously difficult venues to play in. And in addition to NE's AFC best offense, Patriot defense is allowing just 15 points a game this year. So the idea of hanging 30+ up in Foxborough feels a little far fetched, right?
Yes. But if you know this, don't you think the Steeler's OC does too? And, the Steelers now have 2 very fast and healthy wr's. If Big Ben get's enough time, he can throw it deep as good as anyone, and that may very well be what they plan to do if they beat Miami. Don't count out KC. (Iknow I said Pgh) but KC is not #2 by accident. NE seems unbeatable unless you hit Brady...hard. do that 2 or 3 x and he get's rattled, starts crying to the refs and gets out of rhythm.
The Steelers weakest link is their secondary. They will do better against Miami with the backup QB and KC than they would against NE. Don't forget while Brady was sitting from suspension, Ben was out with an injury. Glad we are doing this well.
The secondary is the weakest but it has improved over the season. The rookies DBs are much improved this season and it is starting to show.
Even against NE we have the very fast Shazier and Dupree that can get to Brady. And I absolutely agree with you that hitting him a few times upsets his game. I'm looking forward to watching that happen.

Well, this would hold true for any college or pro QB, right?

Not really. Roethliesberger actually said he likes to get hit early, because he feels he plays looser and more relaxed after he's hit. Philip Rivers has made no qualms about avoiding getting hit at any effort.
LOL. A lot of sacks & INTs out there in SD.162 wrote:

The Dolphins weren't much of a challenge but I think KC might be.
Pittsburgh is lucky to even be in the playoffs. They came within inches of losing to Baltimore in week 15 and being eliminated and then should have lost to the 1-15 Browns week 16 if their coach was smart and just took a knee three times on Pittsburgh's 3 yard line and kicked a field goal. Instead they try to run the ball and fumble. The Steelers are one of the worst 3 seeds in a long time.

I am hopeful the run game clicks and Roethlisberger doesn't get careless. KC's special teams and defense is tough and although their DB's have average rankings, I think they can come up big. On the other side, Alex Smith has not ever shown me much. Hopefully this is not the week he begins to impress me.

You somehow forgot to mention Bell , Brown and Roethliesberger all healthy at the same time since the season began. Perfect storm coming to Kansas City!!
Then maybe play the pretty boy Tom, and listen to him yell for more "Brady Rules" wah wah

At this point it is almost a given that Ben will throw 2 interceptions a game. He needs to clean that sh*t up or it is going to cost a playoff game. Hard to overcome those type of mistakes when you play NE.

You're preachin' to the choir. A clean turnover game & neuter KC's special teams and I like their odds. And would someone please instruct Toussaint to take a knee on kickoffs instead of bringing it out to the 12 each and every time.
Let's not forget Big Ben was in a walking boot at the end of last game. Although he tends to have a lot of minor tweaks so I'm sure he will be fine. But if he is limited, that may change things.
If the steelers can stop Tyreek Hill (esp on punt returns) they should be fine. But I honestly don't see them beating the Patriots.

The boys pulled out a big, but nasty, win in KC. Can't wait to face NE, should be a good game. I think we will make up for lack of touchdowns against the Chiefs.

You mean they are going to throw down 9 safeties on Brady?

I think it will take more than 18 points to win. I would hope if they scored 9 safeties and received the ball in decent field position after each, they might toss in at least a field goal or two.
One thing I have learned is that most times something like failure to score TD's in one game will not necessarily carry over to the next.
What worries me is Brady's ability to read formations and change the play accordingly to force outside LBs in a 3-4 to drop and all but eliminate a pass rush. Tuitt and the line have to help and there has to be some press coverage on the NE waterbug receivers. The Steelers usually do not press and Brady has his way.
Offensively, they need to run Bell, but open up the passing game and take some risks. They are not going to shut out Brady.
Well the Chiefs held Bell to under........200 but just barely. I hate the Steelers but they could have won that game like 35-16. The Chiefs were awful. The defense did stop touchdowns but let them drive all night and only forced 1 punt. Any defensive scheme that has Justin Houston covering Brown is incredibly stupid. To have a guy that once had 20 sacks and is coming off serious knee surgery covering perhaps the best wide receiver in the game is completely insane.
The Patriots should win easily but I think the Super Bowl ends up being Steelers vs Packers because I hate them both. Plus the NFL doesn't want the Patriots or the Falcons to win.
Correct.

Unfortunately I was dead on. If some fan can dissect it you would think either the offensive or defensive coordinators would do "something" different. Every loss to NE looks exactly the same. Not more talent, just far better coached and prepared.
