60:45 if conditions are ideal
Luke Puskreda ran 1:01 low a few years back. Diego ran 60:50 recently there. Neither are in the same class as Rupp. If the Ethiopians are here to run, he can run low 59 - maybe 59:25.

THE COURSE WAS SHORTER THAN THE YEAR BEFORE. THERE WERE MAJOR CHANGES MADE. IT WAS NOT A VALID TIME! 1:02:30 at best.
You say this, except there is no proof. Run was ratified as a full HM

No.
The course was short.
http://www.nytimes.com/1985/01/23/sports/salazar-is-denied-marathon-record.htmlI am sorry about that Alberto.
Galen will get the (U.S.) record for you again.

Does Alberto go to the same barber as the U of O football players? He looks nice and lined up 👌
But I doubt Rupp has the endurance for sub-60 half. He couldn't even crack 2:10 for the marathon.

Rjm, you seem to be confused. You have made a statement refuting mine, but forgotten to attach any proof.
Here's the issue:
Alberto Salazar is a different man to Callum Hawkins
That link talks about a marathon, which is a different race to a half marathon.
That course is in a different continent to Glasgow.
Sal is loading him up
Yea.
I know that.
What is your point?
We are on page 5 of a thread about an imaginary race that Galen might run in Houston…and you bring up Callum Hawkins?????????????
How many people on this thread care about Callum Hawkins?
One.
It is only you.
I don't care if I got the person, place, or thing wrong.
I have been drinking a lot of Muscle Milk recently to try to help build up my vastus lateralis quadriceps muscle on each thigh.
Update Muscle Milk:
Rojo + wejo each drink 10 gallons of Muscle Milk per day= 20 gallons of Muscle Milk per day total.
That explains everything at the Letsrun.com website.

I don't care about muscle milk. I do care about Callum Hawkins running 60:24 for a fully certified half marathon distance. I also care that Galen Rupp is able to run much faster than that time.
I don't care about your vastus lateralis muscles, but I do care about my biceps femoris.
A. 65F is excessive heat?
B. Rojo thinks someone could or would pace Rupp for 12.5 miles of a sub-59 half marathon?
C. Y'all just jealous that Ryan Hall is looking like an actual man.
Of course he will get it. The only interesting part will be if someone notices he's been running in the new Nike spring shoe since the OT.
TrackBot! Optimize 1mi 68 68 75 89
Opimized time for 5:00.0 1609.344m based on even pacing:
4:46.81
I am a bot. Info: habs.sdf.org/trackbot
Rupp can run sub-59:00

It's not ideal for a half marathon record assault, and the forecasts I've seen are slightly higher than that. Still, it will surely negatively impact a fatty like me more than Rupp. I'm more worried about 20+ mph winds.

We know there will be 20+ mph winds 12 days from now? That is some awesome meteorology.

"Worried". Yes, genius, a lot can change between the current forecast and race morning conditions, and it could be a beautiful day.

We are all very worried about how the wind will affect your pacing of Galen during his first 0.9 miles.
Does anyone on this thread know if Galen is going to run in this stupid half-marathon race in Houston?
This is pathetic.
Where are the Oregon people on this thread?
Go ask Alberto and report back to this thread.
This just in: "Rupp Houston half marathon" Google search yields nothing.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
