Difference is she died wrote:
I don't think Carrie Fisher was doing much in the late 70s besides college and then dropping out once she landed Star Wars in '77 when she was all of 19. Martin was 11-12 years older than her so if they met "long before" that he found an underage minor the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Gold bikini was on the cover of Rolling Stone in '83. Commenting on someone being sexy at a bar and mentioning that as the first thing you remember about someone after they died are completely different things. Was anyone saying after Ali died how drop dead gorgeous he was and then they realized he could throw a punch too. Or they were mesmerized by Prince's eye and then oh gee looks like he knows his way around a guitar.
This is garbage. Although females are not quite as visually stimulated as men are, on average, they still comment on the looks of men plenty. Men who do it are demonized; women who do it are found funny. Complete double standard.
As to your specific example: Fisher WAS beautiful; Prince was not. However, there were certainly plenty of people who thought that Prince was weird looking as hell; then they learned that he was a talented musician. We see outside appearance first.
