People that think Solar power is the solution to everything are idiots and this road shows perfectly why. Only the biggest morons in the world would construct a road out of Solar panels. Gee, what could go wrong?

Dang Hippies Actually Built Road With Solar Panels

Maybe it will wear out and they will have to put more solar panels in? Why didn't they think of that.
Solar panels are getting pretty cheap. They're made almost entirely of silicon. -
Solar roads were not built by hippies.

Silicon and lots of dangerous doping agents and chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Making Solar panels are bad for the environment. -
You think the oil industry is, safe?

It's OK Wise One. All those contaminating and poisonous doping compounds are restricted to China. We get the result, they get the contaminated groundwater and three-legged birds. -

Doping agents? Are solar panels made out of EPO and HGH or something? -
Doping means Russians will be blamed for solar panels sooner or later.
But it is correct that there is no environmentally friendly way to power a bloated civilization. It will collapse one way or another. History, the great collapser of bloated civilizations, always wins.
The Mayans did it right. Once they ran out of resources, they said the hell with it and went back to the jungle. -
forest, or countryside, that is. Sorry about the "jungle" comment, Mayans.

Safer than, random commas. -
Only an idiot would think that hippies build roads with solar panels.

New excuse at school. "The Russians ate my homework."

Highway surfaces are typically replaced every 7 to 10 years, while solar panels can last 30 years.
This does not make sense. -

They repaved asphalt roads...constantly. Of course, a fool like you, never noticed. -
So does that mean Solyndra finally has a viable product and can get back in business?
I just knew there was a use for all those worthless solar panels. They will soon replace garage door sections as the new hillbilly fence material. -

That's even stupider than a road made out of Solar panels. Suck the energy from the moving vehicles/runners by making the surface deform underneath you. Gotta be free energy right like a perpetual motion machine, right? Why do all the quacks work in "green" energy. Have they never taken a thermodynamics course? -

People can last 30 years too, but not with cars driving around on them.
You could also, if the asphalt runs out first, replace the lanes that were asphalt and keep the solar panel lane. Construction is probably advanced enough to do that. -
With appropriate subsidies, physics is irrelevant.

There's no such thing as solar power.
It's a myth, like the moon landing and Daniel Komen's 3K.
