I agree with this. I understand the logic, but I think it ascribes too much risk to one game. Just because Jaylon Smith got injured doesn't mean there is a greater chance of McCaffrey getting hurt in this game than any other game. He's played in much less meaningless games than this bowl game. By his logic, you really should bail on your team the moment you've established yourself as a first round draft pick. There is a greater chance of getting hurt with XX games left than one bowl game. NFL contracts are impacted by injuries at all stages of a college career. What's next, guys never playing and sending the NFL combine like videos of them running around and jumping? Football is inherently risky. I think it is misguided to skip one bowl game on the limited chance of a serious injury.
