How can you compare a guy who has run well in ONE track race to a guy who has been competing at the highest level for four years?
Ritz ran well in the junior WC 4 years ago, posted a good time the following summer and has done little since. Then came his very good 10km last May.
Mottram on the other hand has been racing on the World circuit since 2001, since he was 20.
Ritz may well be able to compete from time to time, but as he showed in the previous four years (including this XC season, he races well once or twice and then does f*** all for the rest of the season. To be truely world class you have to run at the highest heights consistently. Like Kennedy, like Steve Scott.
