Out for 2 months so far. Pain when bending or pushing off the knee- jumping and skipping particularly bad.
Limited success with eccentric decline squats and quad extensions.

If it hurts don't do it.
You probably will have to swim and walk for exercise until the tendonitis goes away. If you don't pay attention to it and force the exercise it will turn into tendonosis and THAT you do not want.
If walking bothers you, then you cannot do that either. Perhaps you can run in the pool?
I would also see a sport med doctor before you do anything else.
The pain in tendonitis can often be minimal but you have to get rid of it completely before you begin a running or lifting program!
