Do you still read LRC message board? Has it gotten better or worse over the years?
Ask him who he thinks the best American coaches are, who understand training?
What does he think of 'flat earthers'?
Does he watch any of the videos that Jamin posts about running form?
1) Arne Gabius posted a workout from October 2, 2015 where he did 7 x 2k in 5:55 with "rests" of 4k in 15 minutes. Could you explain the purpose of this workout? I'm asking because other marathon workouts that you have given have had recoveries of only 1k, such as the Gabius workouts from September 29, 2015 and October 6, 2015.
2) In the "Longo" workout (4 sets of 10 x 150 in 21 seconds with 30 seconds between 150s, 5 to 6 minutes between sets) is the 30 seconds rest standing or jogging? Do you still use this workout with your 800m athletes?
3) What would be some examples of aerobic power workouts for the "fast"-type 800m athlete?
Thanks!

Hello LetsRun,
Canova is currently in the US in Florida. Andy Arnold - the guy who we helped send to Kenya - is down there talking to him to wrap up his Kenya work (Arnold is hoping to write a book on Kenyan running).
He said he wants to ask Canova a few LRC themed questions as well.
What would you like to see asked?

Check out Andy's web pages:

Goodness, I hope posting this doesn't make me a stalker.
I got to hear Canova speak on a panel at the USATF convention today and just want to say, the man spoke more than the other two panelists (also both renowned coaches). I honestly had some trouble understanding him at points due to his accent and issues with the sound system, but he clearly has a consummate vision of our sport and a wealth of knowledge. Loren Seagrave's presentation also was outstanding.
Ask him about Bekele.
What could Bekele run for 10000m on the day he ran 2:03.
Can Bekele still run 12:45/26:20 and challenge Farah.
Who has the biggest room for improvement over marathon? Bekele or Kipchoge?
Miranda Cosgrove, Jennifer Anniston, and Megan Fox.
F*** one, marry one, kill one. Go.
Oh, and how many miles should I be doing? Any answer he gives, say back "But I don't want to get injured." and do the mileage you already planned to do before you asked the question.
I would also be curious to hear Canova's thoughts on strength training for mid-distance and distance runners. What have his mid-distance and distance runners done in the past for strength training? Any specific exercises that he recommends or that he advises against? High weight/low rep?
Rojo, There was already a thread where he went into detail on the Kenyan flops at the Olympics. If I have time later will look for it.

I'm very interested in the "Longo" workout, could you tell me a little more about it? When it is used, how fast the 150s should be proprtional to 800m pr, etc.
What ore race diet his marathon runners follow. Do they do carb load delete or just extra carbs.
Plus what time could Asbel Kiprop do if he trained for 5000m for a year - to settle an argument with another coach who claims he could coach him to a world record!

Would also like to know this. Mach schnell mit der questions ja
Renato, you continually deny doping athletes despite obvious evidence proving otherwise. You reap the benefits of the naïve and gullible demographic. You prostitute African runners in an effort to gain financial reward from their success. You encourage them to dope in order to gain the aforementioned financial rewards. Then you blatantly deny it all in order to protect how you fraudulently make your living. Why are you such an unscrupulous individual, who puts on a mask to fool people and suggest the opposite?
what kind, if any, testing protocals does he use to discover talent, and then to judge effects of training thoughout the year.
Imagine you were training non-professional runners who did 50-60 miles a week and were aiming for 10-half marathon; let's say they need to keep the volume there either because they're busy with a job or because they get injured when they do more.
What kinds of workouts would you recommend? How would you divide the mileage at that range between different pace ranges?
Thanks,
Since he clearly knows more than anyone about training ask him when he's going to take down Whitlock's records.
