It's not as bad as you think, as they have it setup (first/odd3&5/even2&4) so that you aren't tripping over people when you lap them. But now everyone on LRC has me worried, and I contacted someone else who ran, and thinks the course was short. This sounds right, as I was thinking my 14:57 was fast (but not PR), as I didn't train and it was poor weather. I will go measure the course on the weekend.
I won by more than a minute, maybe almost two. It was clearly the fastest they've ever seen (record was 16-something I found out). Perhaps my mistake was not to realize how slow hobbyers are? I should read LRC more to find out.
PS: The first lap guy(s) it turns out was just doing a 1k run, not sure if it was "official", or if that was just his private game. They don't do splits, but I was about 3:00.
