Seriously?
Seriously. Three olympic teams. 2 x world XC champion. A hair better than Salazar in world 10000m rankings.

Salazar and Virgin were essentially contemporaries (3 year age difference) and Salazar was better at every distance event after he turned 22.

They raced a lot more than that. Cross referencing the six races mentioned on both runner's Wikipedia pages, Salazar was 5-1 in those races (I am sure there are others):
1980 OT 10,000 - Virgin
1981 US 10,000 -- Salazar
1982 US XC Team Trials -- Salazar
1983 US XC Team Trials -- Salazar
1983 World XC -- Salazar
1983 US 10,000 -- Salazar
Salazar had better PRs at 5K, 10K and the Marathon (holding all three ARs). Salazar was ranked #1 in the World in the Marathon in 1981 and 1982.
