I've never heard of Earthquake but the other three are in my top 10 for sure, at least for individual performances. Chapelle in his prime, fantastic. Now, not so much. Same with Chris Rock, although he didn't fall quite as hard as Chapelle.

Louis CK, on the other hand, is one of the masters -- consistently amazing performances. I'd rank him equal with Pryor and others of that ilk.

Because their published material was heavily censored. I am not old enough or interested enough to know if there is uncensored nightclub work published, but, my understanding is the live show was completely different than the produced stuff.

One guy who was hilarious in person but not so funny as host of the Tonight Show was Jay Leno. I saw him a few times back in the day and he was really funny.

This thread is just a list of people that have been in funny movies.

The guy who said take my wife please was the comedian in Goodfellas who asked his wife where she would like to go on her B-Day and she said somewhere where I haven't been before and he said How about the kitchen.

Man, I can't believe that Bill Burr hasn't been mentioned yet. All of his specials are comedy gold, with the possible exception of the first half of his last one. He just finished taping a new one which I'm stoked about.

Dave Chappelle has to be up there, too. Louis CK has been hit or miss for me.
