Top 3, for sure. Bob Newhart is not very modern. I don't know if his stand-up is online, but, pretty good.

Jonathan winters is great. Pretty timeless too.
If Cosby wasn't a serial you-know-what, he'd be on the list. Woody Allen is also too creepy.
I am not a fan, but people love Seinfeld. I can see why. It is just not for me.
In no particular order:
Dave Chappelle
Bob Newhart
Sarah Silverman
Jonathan Winters
Maria Bamford
Another old one is Don Rickles. I don't enjoy the put-downs, but pretty funny.
Andy Kaufman hasn't aged well. But, some of his material is funny. He did a television special that should be on YouTube. Crazy.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the now comedian for the now generation. I bring to you Mister Rudy Ray Moore!"
RRM is the original Jack, if you heard it from somebody somewhere else, then somebody is a copycat!
I would not lie to you baby!
Many will point towards favorites of their generation. Students of entertainment would include the brilliance of performers going back to the 1920's. Comedic geniuses like Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Laurel & Hardy, the Marx Brothers, Abbott & Costello,- later years - Moms Mabley, Red Skelton, Milton Berle, Robin Williams, Lucille Ball, Jerry Lewis (who was nominated for the Nobel Prize Peace Prize!), Carol Burnett, Dom Deluise and dozens of others. One of the more interesting things about the ones just mentioned (besides Williams) is that they didn't have to use foul language to make you laugh. And movie goer ever heard the voices of Chaplin and Lloyd!
