Wondering what's going on with her. She finished 3rd today at Regionals and I'm assuming this was a real effort because her team is on the bubble of qualifying. Based on her last 2 performances should she not be considered a favorite for the title anymore?

Hopefully she is just saving the best for last:)

I wouldn't really consider 3rd at regionals to be a disgrace.

No one said it was a disgrace....she's just clearly on the decline from her early season winning performances. She beat Erin Finn solidly in her first race and outlasted Anna Rohrer and Alice Wright in her second. Since then she has lost to Wright, another New Mexico runner and an Air Force runner at conference and yesterday she lost to Amy Eloise Neal and another unheralded runner at Regionals. I'm betting that Finn, Rohrer, Neal, and Wright will all beat her at Nationals now. I'm just commenting on the noticeable difference from the way she started out the season dominating. -
So she's cooked. It happens.
Annie is doing well training under Zola. -
Training through. Time to taper and crush the field.

Or not. She seems to be very dismissive of not having Allie to train with. She appears not to like Allie based on her interviews. That's a shame because they are both better when they have each other to train with. 6th has got to be a disappointment after the way her season started. -
I doubt it. You guys forget what this girl was like in high school. For her to be 6th as a soph is crazy, I don't care what her first few races were like.

Wasn't she a HS state champion?
-
Didn't she finish 9th last year?

Didn't she lose a S*!t-ton of weight?? -
Agreed! She deflected the question about Allie in her post race interview. Yuh could totally see it in her eyes when they were asking the question. If she liked Allie she could have easily said she missed training with her or something while at the same time saying she missed having her team there. It was an interesting way to answer the question. Though to be fair, she probably hates being asked about Allie all the time.

That's sad. They seemed to be friends earlier and talking about the BAM factor. Now it seems like Brenna and Minttu are always together, probably can't help if Allie can't run either, although I think minttu is injured also

Say goodbye to her being relevant in XC. Very doubtful she is able to replicate this success for another entire year.

In the video interview with Finn after loosing to Peloquin she says she had only been running for 6 weeks after recovery from her earlier injury that kept her out of the Olympic trials. Finn most likely continued to improve after that race while Peloquin suffered a setback afterwards or peaked too early in the season. -
