As one who lives in Colorado, I have learned a bit about the effects of immigration. House framers and carpenters have told me that Hispanic immigrants have driven them out of the market by under bidding jobs. The same is also true for landscaping, roofing, and other labor intensive industries.
I'm not making a judgement about whether this is good or bad. But to those who say immigrants just take jobs Americans don't want are ignorant on the issue.
The democratic party wants higher minimum wages, mandatory paid leave for illness and child bearing, and easier rules for overtime. Well, in my business, I'm competing with 50 cent an hour Chinese labor. It's not a even playing field. I don't know if Trump can turn this around. I rather doubt it. But I find CEOs like Tim Cook to be complete hypocrites. He wants all manner of environmental restrictions and employer mandates on U.S. companies while Apple has their products made in Chinese factories where nets are hung outside the building to prevent workers from committing suicide. Not to mention that the same factories burn high Sulphur coal and dump chemical waste anywhere they want.
But I guess writing apps is a clean process and it's easier to be holier than thou.
