The movie Without Limits showed a short teaching session; Bowerman explaining to Pre how he could get an easier knee lift. (It has been pointed out to me that this is one of my mechanical problems). The explanation Bowerman gave Pre was that he should conk his hips forward "as if at deepest penetration" and he would get a higher easier knee lift resulting in a more efficient stride. I wondered if that session really took place; but more importantly, I'd like to understand better what he meant and if "conking the hips forward" really does help the stride. Anyone with good mechanical understanding that can explain that in a different way is appreciated.
