The answer is n - 2.
n=how much your SO cares about style/fashion on a scale of 1-10.
If your SO is a 7, you should be a 5. If she is a 10, you better be an 8- no more, no less.
This is the correct answer.

Anyone who thinks a Kardashian is the epitome of style does not deserve an answer.
Agreed.
Anyone who says "0" and/or is bashing fashion in general is likely also one of the guys telling C3P0 to dump his girlfriend in that other thread.
You don't need to be Tim Gunn, but believe me that it's attractive for men to have style. It doesn't have to be hard. Men have it easier in this department. Start with wearing clothes that fit.

You are a girl so I'll defer to your advice. But regarding Tim Gunn - who? And I'm actually serious.
The women you will attract/marry will be commiserate in their style with your own style.
You never get a second chance at a first impression. That's what you should be thinking when getting ready each morning.
Whether it is right or not you are judged by your appearance. So for all the people saying "as a man you should be a 2-3" they are the ones being judged negatively and whether they realize it or not it is most likely impacting their work and social life.

You guys might not realize this but taking care of yourself, wearing nice clothes, trimming facial hair neatly, doing your hair well, making sure nails are clipped well go a long way with attracting women. Don't have to make yourself "look gay" but taking care of yourself in a lot of small ways and dressing well adds up. Women can make themselves go from a 4/10 to a 7/10 with makeup and taking care of themselves. Obviously the effect won't be as large for a guy but you still can make a solid dent.

If you don't dress your best, then why live? Life should be determined by your Instagram likes.
I'm 50 yrs old and a professional. I work in a supervisory role and work with mostly sharp dressed women. You're damn right I value style and dressing like a gentleman. I've spent the past 30 assembling a wardrobe of probably 200 ties 100 shirts 50 pr of pants and maybe 30 pr of shoes. My clothes are not bespoke or Tom Ford but are mostly Ralph Lauren. I shop on ebay and spend a minimal amount of money. Given a savvy shopper a man can dress smartly for just as much as one who looks like a slob.
Fashion is temporary, style is forever - Yves St. Lauren
Want to be in tune with fashion? That is fine. Anywhere from 0-10 according to your desires. In 10 years every fashion today will be old news anyway and we will all be on to the next thing.
But style is paramount. You always need to have that.
Side note - all men, if nothing else, should have at least ONE tailored suit and ONE good pair of dress shoes that go with it.
You can look like $hit 99% of the time if that's your thing, but don't look that way at weddings and funerals.
americans come here and go shopping in the city with sweatpants. thats not ok.
