Boston is by far the worst. It's filled with legal seafood loving, democrat voting pieces of trash who have repulsive accents.

Basically most of the Deep South. People don't run and think you're weird for doing it.
Louisiana for sure. Just fried food, drinking and partying.
oh boo hoo enjoy your treadmill #winterwarriorchallenge
sincerely,
Cambridge Runner
Tell us how you really feel about Boston.
Have you guys ever been to the North Slope of Alaska? A place like Barrow might get 10-20 degrees above freezing for maybe 6 weeks of the year, and even then, you might have to do sprint training to get away from the polar bears.
I think I'd take Baton Rouge in August.

Boston is not good - people think it's great because of The Marathon and The Charles but it's crap really. The winter and spring are terrible and the summers are miserably humid. You get about 1 month of good running - October. That's it. October.
You're right. The USATF club competition is excellent in Boston, but the regular people there are super rude, stuck up, and old fashioned and just don't know how to initiate casual conversation . Weather is horrible but some people there love it, it's bad kind of like winters in the mid-west.
The accent in Boston is horrible. So many low class obnoxious people with it there and racial tensions
Tons of alcoholism around there too. It's a way to deal with the problem of being there and not leaving

No.
Boston is the best.
Idiots.
sour patch and the others have no evidence to support their anti-south animus. i call b.s.
Couldn't agree more not a running city

Florida.
You pussies don't know heat till you solo 14 miles in 103 heat with 90% humidity. Not to mention theres snakes and alligators everywhere.
This is why Florida is not the best place to run, not evidence that it's the worst place to run.
Florida is nowhere near the worst place for running. I haven't missed a morning outdoor run in three years. We basically have 365 days/year of manageable morning runs. Yeah, it's insanely humid, and very uncomfortable -- but it's doable.
Most Florida cities are probably in the top third if you're going to look at the entire calendar. Gainesville is probably in the top 5%.
This is the only guy w a clue what he is talking about in this thread, most of you never been in -40, well it's guaranteed for at least a week stretch every winter. Any place any cover from the wind is strictly concrete. Wtf are you Boston people talking about??? ND/MN is much hotter in the summer and much colder in the winter with equal amount of snow. Iowa? Go north a state. The only places worse are desolate places in Alaska and the South is next on the list cause of brutal summer conditions but you can run early/late in the day and it isn't that bad and the winter sprint fall is fine.
Wilkes-Barre, PA

Really? A black man dressed in running clothes and running shoes is considered up to no good by EVERY white person? Everywhere? Not in my town.
I have witnessed that too! Sure not everywhere and not every white person but the majority. The awkward looks and stares makes you wonder perhaps you forgot to put on your clothes and are running naked or something. Or maybe you just grew some long tail lol. The stares are however not just by white people but also black people. It is a simple equation: Black man + Running(however they are dressed) = Must have committed a crime!
Oregon is where running was invented.
Let's define, "to run." Ultra guys would love Alaska and Oregon. Picking a state is a massive blanket statement.
Weather is the biggest factor. Tracks can be found in every town with over 5,000 people. Learn to love turning left and life is great.
Eugene. Where running was invented. Nice.

Yeah, but it makes us run faster.

Oh, please. Bowerman stole it from the Aussies..(Lydiard) and then that a doctor from Texas wrote a bestselling book on fitness.

At night any running Black man is a suspect. If you live in a hot climate and you prefer to run after sundown, you will be harassed as a Black man.
Recent annual FBI crime stats show that of 500,000 crimes involving inter-racial violence in one year, over 80% will be of the black on white variety, a four to one ratio if the populations were equal.
But, there are six times as many whites as blacks. So, approximately 24 of 25 crimes involving inter-racial violence are of the black on white variety.
Even Jess J. admitted to crossing the street under certain circumstances.

That pales in comparison to the number of white crimes against non-whites during WW2. So if anything Blacks should fear whites.
It's the old stereotype, a Black man running is up to no good (Jogging While Black)
