No real free speech in America either. Protest Israel and you cannot do business with any state govt or the feds either. Protest racism like Kapernick is and you get threats and get your career ended. Just ask Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
Greatest country in the world in:
Imprisoning people;
Murder;
Making weapons;
and crappy movies too.
Anything else?
Here in Saudi Arabia, one of your nations allies, we women have no rights and can't even drive a car, but Hillary took our leaders money and said nothing.

It is odd to me how much talk this has generated.
The NFL doesn't have an official policy that athletes must stand.
The coach said basically the quarterback can do what he wants.
He can do sit or stand during the anthem. He may lose fans who don't agree with his views if he sits. Is that really a big deal? He is still going to make bank if he is a good quarterback.

Not sure the point of your post Jeff? I know you have lots of free time to chime in on this site, so if you get a moment.....
Professionals in the USA are being fired from their careers all over. Just on the word of some local who says I want him fired because that is racist..I think. The only racism in the USA is reverse discrimination. Kapercrick knows he is done. People want him gone from the team, he is pissed at everyone....kind of like Tiger. He is just using his last few months to scream and yell he is being railroaded cause of his racial persuasion. Truth is, they need a new Quarterback.
What kind of oppressive, un-democratic nation do we live in, that we are being told by the talking heads that we should be angry at an individual for not paying respect to an inanimate representation of our ruling regime?
I was a US Marine. By military law, I was required to stand at attention, face the flag or source of music, and salute during the national anthem. As a volunteer in the military, I accept those laws and abide.
As a citizen of a supposedly free nation, we should be repulsed by the notion that we conduct ritual representations of respect to our government. Play the national anthem, I'm all for it; but if I don't want to stand, or get off my phone, fvck you. Why should I. Why should I perform these rituals? Is this Nazi Germany?
Our founding fathers are rolling in the graves.
You have the freedom do speak and say what ever you Think is right to speak and say. Now what good is it if you don't have the freedom to do whatever you think is right to do?
It's deeds that count, not words. Now what happens if what you think is right to do doesn't fit public opinion laws? You are punished. America is no different than any other place in this aspect. Sometimes even worse with the american respect and deep beleif in laws and hard punishments to anyone who does differently than public opinion laws. A free man is not someone who says what he thinks is right- that's nothing but a slave. A free man is someone who does what he thinks is right to do, ignoring the majority, willing to pay whatever price and punishment. Words like "freedom of speech", "democracy"- they mean nothing but words. Air.

It's all Hendrix's fault. Ever since Woodstock, every time a big crowd gathers they want to hear his shit reenacted.
