The government just needs to pay the NFL more millions for more stirring "patriotic displays" during games That will make people think the NFL is patriotic and hush up the bad publicity over Kaepernick.

Good luck with that.
these guys are heroes to all but the most blatant far-right fascists complaining about CK (granted, this message board is disproportionately populated with blatant far-right fascists). are we going to revise history to demonize them too?:

Just as prayer was taken out of schools, soon the national anthem will be removed from sporting events. All it takes is for someone to be emphatic about how he or she or he/she is being disrespected and shouldn't have to be forced to listen to the song. It violates their rights.

And yet you're the one whining. You can go to church any old time you want, you just can't make my kids pray your way in school. Pretty simple. I'm not disrepecting your religious beliefs, I just don't need you stuffing them in my face. A church is a church. A school is a school. Go to church as you please, but don't try to act like YOUR rights are being stepped on when you can't make a public school function as a church of your personal religion.
I disagree.
The NFL does not have a policy that all the players must stand. That policy should not be changed.
The NFL has many players that have done horrible things. Assault, weapons violations of all kinds, promoting dog fighting, spousal abuse,..... hell......even murder. Those people still have (or had) jobs.
Just because a guy refuses to stand for a stupid song he doesn't believe in, he should be thrown out? GTF out of here.
Instead of putting in effort on hating Kaepernick, try focusing your energy and hatred where it belongs......on the corrupt police departments and cowardly pigs they employ that started this mess. Get those jerkoffs under control so I can enjoy the upcoming football season. Now get to work......
What NFL rule did he violate?
The Cowboys wanted to change something about their uniform--league must approve those.

We all know the Goodell is a bleed heart liberal because of his family and because he's in bed with Espn and nbc who are liberal agenda media stations. But if he doesn't at least fine kaepernick for disrespecting our country then he is a double standard rotten sleezeball. He allows the rams to protest "hands up don't shoot" in support of a criminal. He bans the cowboys from supporting law enforcement.
You're move jackass
If you had any respect for American traditions you would be willing to allow this man his right to protest. Liberty is strong enough to withstand displays of frustration and protest. For the moment at least, we are not Nazi Germany, where people are forced to to display loyalty in strictly circumscribed ways. In my view, enforced pledging is not the American way. I recommend you do a bit of reading on how the pledge has evolved in our history. It has not always been the rote ceremony of expectation that it has become.

I agree. They shouldn't play the National Anthem before the games.
They also shouldn't take billions to advertise feel good stories for the military.

It isn't quite that simple. For most people the free exercise of religion isn't something that only takes place inside a church. It's supposed to be a way of life. And for some religions, evangelism is a central part of practice, so "stuffing them in your face" is something they're compelled to do (of course, even evangelists don't have to harass).
I think most people will agree with your general statement that people shouldn't be allowed to make a public school function as a church. The question is what that means, specifically. For example, can students organize religious clubs that don't receive state funding but meet on campus? Can student newspaper columnists write about religion? These questions don't have obvious answers. One person sees state support for a religion, trampling on the rights of atheists and minority religions. Another person sees the state merely accommodating students' free exercise. (And, incidentally, there's a major overlap between free exercise and free speech. Religion isn't just a topic, it's also a viewpoint, and the First Amendment does not generally permit viewpoint discrimination.)
we already do not sing the entire national anthem because of it's horrific lyrics... or didn't they teach you that in grade school

Roger Goodell is a republican.
This is hilarious. Redneck double standard.
Things that NFL Players can get away with and nobody cares:
Drugs
Guns in clubs
DWI
Domestic Violence against women
This list could easily go on....
But protesting? lol NO NO it's TREASON execute them.
This notion of "patriotism" or "un-patriotic" are control mechanisms used by authoritarian countries to keep people in "check" we are the only western country where people can be threatened with the notion of being "un-patriotic" it's quite ridiculous and is a form of censorship.
Does anyone remember when the Dixie-chicks spoke out about the IRAQ war? They were deemed "un-patriotic" and every one descended on them with hard core hate. 12 years later? Everyone agrees IRAQ War was a massive mistake second to only Vietnam.
This country is constantly changing.
But the type of people complaining about this form of protest are the same people that would have complained when Tommie Smith & John Carlos did the Black Power Salute on top of the Olympic Podium.
Go vote trump you F*(&(*WAD
