Where's NFL Commish Goodell on Kapernick Dissing the National Anthem?

So within the past week Dwayne Wades sister was murdered while pushing a baby carriage in Obamas former neighborhood, then two 68 year old Catholic Nuns providing free healthcare to the local black community in Mississippi, and in each case the African -amerikaan rpetrators are crying about how Black Lives Matter but Kapernicous didn't say or do anything about those incidents though he's talking about the need fort social justice, hmmmm.

I didn't read most of this thread, but I'm going to post the same sentiment that I posted in another thread:

I'm a retired US Marine.

I don't understand the vitriol towards Kaepernick on this. It is his constitutional right, if not responsibility, to peacefully protest a situation that he does not feel is right. He should be applauded for doing this. He's done it in the classiest way possible. He has made it clear that his views are his own, not his organization's and not his teammates. He's politely answered every question about his actions. If everyone acted more like him, the world would be a better place.

Goodell has no jursidiction over free speech.

The Rams players didn't ask for permission, they just did it. No way could the NFL discipline them while that mess in Ferguson was going on. They just took care of it by moving the entire team to LA....that will show them. CK will receive the same passive discipline and be nothing more than a bit player for the Eagles in 2 years.

Our entire society is built on giving minorities what they want while at the same time keeping them down and profiting in some way.

Not sure what DT has to do with this crap, but I agree, any American who complains about what they don't have sux.

People in other countries risk death or have to win the darn lottery to get to the US, but yet Americans B&^*%@ bout their privileged little lives.

But Commish Goddell set a disastrous precedent with that St. Louis Rams decision.....or lack of decision. Every troubled NFL player from henceforth could argue that lack of decision should also apply to him.....irregardless of whether it is Tom Brady or Colin Kap.

I agree with this if it is on your own time. On private personal time stand or don't stand who cares?

However, so far the NFL has only said that they prefer Players to stand but don't mandate it. The NFL would clearly mandate a player standing for the national anthem it a sensitive racial issue was not involved.

In fact they have ruled that way in the past regarding expression of personal political agenda's. But this topic they are afraid to touch.

You not standing up doesn't mean anything because, no offense, you aren't anyone. I think CK is an idiot and I would bet his stance (no pun) is fueled by headlines and a radical black lady friend. I would almost bet he regrets speaking up but he's taken it too far to stand down now (yes pun).

It means there is no duty to stand for the anthem for a regular citizen, so why should there be for a celebrity?

If a celebrity wants to turn it into a form of protest, and you take issue with the protest, that's something. But it seems most people are offended by his show of unpatriotism, without which nobody would pay much attention.

If we're lucky, this might morph into a general anti-anthem protest and we can finally rid sports of this flag-waving nonsense.

Odd then that you have not pointed out where Kaepernick has demonstrated or stated that he is ungrateful.

Indeed, Kaepernick has stated:

"This is because I'm seeing things happen to people that don't have a voice, people that don't have a platform to talk and have their voices heard and effect change," the quarterback said. "So I'm in a position where I can do that, and I'm going to do that for people that can't."

This seems to indicate that he at least recognizes his own privileged position. Further, it shows that he understands that with privilege comes obligations.
