1) Slowest men 1500 metres final race since 1932
2) Extremely slow first 800 metres, 2:16.59
3) I do not consider the 2008 1500 metres race since Rashid Ramzi changed the character of the race. I have reviewed all men Olympic 1500 metres final since 1956. Centrowitz's last 700 metres, 93.41 seconds was only the fourth fastest last 700 metres.
4) Excluding Ramzi, Centrowitz's last 300 metres of 38.00 was only the 3rd fastest last 300 metres.
5) No men Olympic 1500 metres final other than Saturday's race was so slow the first 800 metres. Going back to 1956, the second slowest through 800 metres was 1992. Split was 2:06.83, 1992. In that race, Cacho ran the fastest last 300 metres ever, 37.57. Cacho went into a finish line float the last 15 metres of said race.
Centrowitz's victory feels fraudulent. The race was extremely slow throw 800 metres. The race wasn't comparatively fast the last 700 in relationship to other Olympic final 1500 metres. The race wasn't comparatively fast the last 300 in relation to other Olympic final 1500 metres.
