"Steps on or over the curb with two consecutive steps of the left foot."
Chelimo only had one foot strike on the inside line. He should be reinstated.

they never put the rail back even for the 4x4

Paul Chelimo ran yet another pr, this one a big one, and had plenty of run in the last lap, only having some ridiculous boxing/pushing/shoving to get through. He was clearly above everyone else but Farah. I love Lagat, of course, and he ran a 13:06 in an Olympic Final at 41, but I really don't like to see Chelimo dq'd here. If this was for stepping on the line when they themselves had removed the curb, he didn't intend it, and he didn't get any benefit--it's not as if that step put him ahead of third place--then there should be no foul.
Chelimo reinstated....too bad they didn't do the same for Kemboi.

I'm so happy he has his well earned silver medal back!

Watched it for third time. Still don't see it. On the last lap that is.
Can you give a specific race time, to the second?
Well NBC has shown it about 10 times. I'd say 60 meters into the last lap

Not so sure about that. Appears to be more BS reporting by NBC as the results still show DQ for all 3. No mention at all of reinstatement on the online stream.
Reinstated!!!! Silver for Chelimo! What a boss, comes 3rd at the trials and runs a 16 second PR for silver. Centro's run was amazing, but Chelimo's run was the highlight of the night for me.
Now the online stream acknowledges that they are hearing he may be reinstated but the results they are looking at also still show DQ

NBC paid zillion$. They get news before the website.
Outstanding Track is a contact sport and glade they realized he should not be blamed for some bumps along the way. Congrates to Chelimo and Simmons. Enjoy some down time just not in Brazil.
Chelimo and Ahmed reinstated, Edris still out

Results have Chelimo and Ahmed reinstated now.
Doesn't the curb have to be in place for WR. So you have an Olympic final where the times don't count?
If he does then half the field should be too.
Chelimo is incredible. His was my favorite performance of the entire games. Also impressed with 13:06 by Lagat. Distance running in the USA is on fire.
Why can't they design the track where the high jump start is more towards the center of the field? I'm sure there can be some design created where part of the grass field is replace with a high jump area.

While having his strides broken multiple times over the last 2 laps. If it was him and mo, no infractions, Im convinced that he wins, dude was closing like a train and had a real spring in his step to get back to pace after being knocked around
He's only 25 officially so even if he is older he should be able to really give Farah a test, when I saw him close at USA's I thought it looked almost farah like
This was also the hardest of farah's WR's Id say also
Cant wait for him to possbly dethrone mo in london
Chelimo is coached by Dan Browne, NOT Simmons. Let's get the facts straight here!

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
