Well, he can't get people to respond as well as KB and Geb because testing is slightly better and he was just lucky to find two high responders at basically the same time. And that's the truth.
isn't so that the talent has gravitated toward the marathon for monetary reasons?
Interesting statement. Depends on how you look at it. Many would say Geb (more so) and Tergat were lucky to have each other because their friendly rivalry drove them to levels that they might not have achieved without each other.
Hot take: Geb and Tergat are lucky they never had to compete against Farah.
it's true best kenyan 10k talent is generally on road
eliud was probably in 26'20 shape in his 2"03-flat & he was training for M !!!
however, the kenyans have got nearly 2 best possible current 1/2M guys in 10k ( eliud wouda been at least up there with karoke for 2nd in cardiff ) & tanui looked in ~ 26'20 shape in trials if you converts vivian's/betsy's trial times to sea-level
however, it's Kamwo or bust
as malmo said elsewhere, this is 1st games in history ( well, maybe since '72/'76 ) where kenyans have weather ( if not too windy as sprints in morning were ) to grind mo into the dust
it has to be done from gun with nothing less than 64s laps from gun
kenya have 3 guys in
26'00 - 26'15
shape, if all 100% fit
you can't let it drift & get smacked again by a guy who will kick in a 54 in finishing 26'50
no jog for 1k then hammering it, as you can't make it 9k race
hermens is damn wrong
the 3 kenyans are as good as bekele in his prime, the top one, a quantum leap better than kennster
he needs to get his boyz to even-pace him thru 5k in 13'05 - 13'10 & keep going to 7k, hopefully 8k at same pace, & they can then wave him past having done their job
it's simply a matter if Kamwo can have paid enough for the other 2 boyz to sacrifice themselves...
Mo is only a year younger than K Bekele... so I look at Mo and say his peak was not as high as Kenny's but he has certainly been more durable.

Not even close. Bekele is/was far more durable than Farah. Farah only races a few times per year and none of them are hard fast races. Bekele ran year round against all competition and chased fast times. Bekele is far far more durable than Farah.
as were lucky to be alive in free for all epo era................
and bekele lucky to have a manager with connections
and get use of the best epo micera by far years before others
micera was magic
all done when could rock any hematocrit .
very lucky ................

Absolutely, no question.
You think Mo could have hung with Bekele back in 08? No way!

Not sure how that makes him "far far more durable than Farah."
Farah is winning gold medals in his 30s. Bekele hasn't won a gold medal in 7 years.
Jos is lucky there is no serious enforcement of agent's association with dopers. If there were, he'd have been gone decades ago and no celebrated by the IAAF president Coe.
