Democrats are opposed to voter ID laws. Am I missing something?
Why would anyone be opposed to voter ID laws? Voting, especially for the President of the US, is very important. It is one of the most important rights those with the right to vote do in this country, and it is essential that it is as fair and honest as possible.
Proving you are who you say you are, and that you are legally allowed to vote seems like basic common sense to uphold the integrity of the process.
You have to show ID to do a myriad of other things that are arguably less important than voting.
The only reason I can think that anyone would be opposed to voter ID laws would be if they intended to abuse the system by having people not allowed or registered vote, or by having dead people vote.
I'd love to hear the other side, because I can't think of a logical reason to be against voter ID laws.
