Hey, they can write a check to the US Treasury to pay more than the tax code calls for. Curious how many people do this.
Also, the rich can afford to pay a higher percentage since they make more. (that is not to say I want them to just that it is often the rationale expressed). The rich also are the ones who can hire people to find the exemptions and deductions in the overly complicated tax code.
