How would you compare Mo Farah to guys like Kenenisa Bekele, El Guerrouj or the other all-time greats?
Mo's times in the 1500m, 5k and 10k are very good but not all-time great. But he has the unique quality of being great at every event from the 1500m (3:28) all the way through the half marathon (59:32). This combination of speed/strength and endurance makes him almost unbeatable in championship races. I'd say more so than even Bekele or El Guerrouj.
Right now Farah has two Olympic gold metals and 5 World Championship golds. He's favored to win the 5k and 10k in the Olympics this year. I could easily see him end his career with 4 Olympic golds and 6-8 World Championships titles. I believe that would be the most of any modern distance runner. So what do you think? Can Farah be considered an all-time great if he doesn't have world record level times but a bunch of Olympic Gold Metals and World Championship titles?
