Run the race right now and NJNY wins every time.

NJNY is very, very good. Especially for a non Nike group. The best non- Nike group. But NOP does win this battle.
If NOP raced today in the mile shape they are in now, (CURRENT MILE FITNESS), they still win.
If the NOP guys really never train for the mile they should be vulnerable when they race it. But they still win.
Galen has run 3:50 but Alexander smoked him last year in a Mile race 2 weeks before Worlds. Galen would be hard pressed to run a 3:37 or 3:38 right now. Levins cannot run even close to 3:54 right now. Maybe, Maybe a 3:39 for 1500. Wouldn't even make the NOP relay. Jenkins could run 3:36 maybe and Farah could run 3:31 to 3:33 range. Centro today chasing someone down could go 3:32 or 3:33.
NJNY right now has Merber at 3:37 and getting faster each race. Alexander at 3:36. Gregorek at 3:37 and Palmer at 3:38
So Alexander vs Galen on leg one sees NJNY lead by 2 seconds.
Palmer vs Jenkins on leg two sees it even after 2 as Jenkins catches Palmer.
Mo vs Gregorek sees Mo open up a 4 sec lead.
Then Centro opens it up to an 8 second win by the finish over Merber.
But hats off to NJNY. They are the closest competition to NOP if you go by CURRENT MILE FITNESS. Sorry to the other clubs...
Rupp would barely break 4 with his marathon legs right now. We all saw that 5k final...
It depends on what 'right now' means, because if the race was in two weeks, NOP would have Mo at 3:30 or 3:29, Centro 3:29, Jenkins 3:34 and Osako has stated he wants the Natl. record, so 3:36.
I'm sorry, but no other group has two 3:29 guys, and the other two are fine for keeping it close.
Agreed that NJNY is the next best, because OTC has become a joke. BTC would compete with the same few weeks to sharpen/rest. (Jager 3:32, Hill 3:34, Bayer 3:36, Fernandez 3:29 (LOL KIDDING). They don't have a fourth guy. Huling or Lopez should be good for 3:40.)
I don't see any way anyone beats NOP, even at current mile fitness.
They really should add this to the tracktown summer meet next year. (The one happening this week)
A lot of posters seem to be forgetting that it all comes down to the last leg.... And when you are talking about all elite teams no one team would have much of a lead over the rest of the field.
I would take Jenkins at leg one, Rupp with marathon legs, Mo, and Centro in that order, at their current fitness and training, over any of the teams mentioned. No anchor leg could handle Centro, especially not when Mo is right before him to make up any time lost in the first two legs.

Right. I think it would come down to Willis and Centro and unless the former had a decent lead, which is rare in these relays, then the latter would win the kick. Andrews chasing for 3rd.

1-Beasts (Heath, Yorks, Ulrey, Masters) 3:34/3:37but his 3:53 mile is better 3:35/3:38/3:36
2-NY-NJ (Merber, Johnny G, Alexander, some other guy) 3:34/3:38/3:36,3:39
3-NOP (Cento/Rupp/Levins/Jenkins) 3:30/3:38/3:39/3:38
4-OTC (Wheating/Fleet/McNamara/Blanks) 3:38/3:40/3:37/3:34)
5-BTC (Jager/Bayer/Hill/?Huling) 3:34/3:39/3:35/3:39
Put in Kidder for brooks beasts instead of Ulrey, 3:38 and 3:55 split on the penn state dmr. I think they're def the second best team behind the NOP. OTC aside from Blank was really weak this season.
NOP 1st
Beasts 2nd
Rest of the other groups 3-7.
It would be a cool race, they should do it next year.

No way Brooks stands a chance vs NJNY. Add it up.
Heath had a horrible outdoor season at 1500. He's a 3:40 guy right now. Yorks has gone 3:37. Masters best this year is 3:38. Kidder's 3:55 mile conversion is 3:38 or 3:39 depending on tenths.
NJNY beats them by at least 5 seconds.

Yea maybe, I guess I didn't take them very seriously when the 4th leg of their relay's name is "some other guy"
