I remember a few years back when three Kenyan born runners went 1-2-3 in the NCAA men's 10K and these boards were lit up with outrage. No one seemed upset that a Canadian (Shelia Reid) won the women's 1500 and 5K, another canadian (Matt hughes) won the mens steeple, a German won the women's 800, and two other Germans went 1-2 in the men's hammer throw. The outrage is selective.

Yes, the country was FORMED by immigrants indeed....The French, the Spanish, the English, the Scottish, the German, the Dutch, the Swedes,
the Italians.... with an especially huge effort starting in the mid 1800s.
What this country was not formed by was Kenyans, or Eritreans, or whatever. Starting in the 70s and 80s, huge numbers of immigrants started coming in to basically leach off an already long established country. It's been in a downward spiral ever since.
As Usual, everyone neglects the Irish. The red-headed (literally) step-children of Europe and the UK and of U.S. history.
Granted we make fairly ugly people, and we have bland taste-buds (we are not known for our cuisine - have you ever seen an Irish restaurant? Anywhere?), and we generally eat a lot of potatoes and boiled meats.
However, we can fight, and we are well known for our drinking prowess.
Still, no glory or respect for the Irish :( Even the fookin Scots got a call out, fer Chrissakes!

He was born there to two American citizens who grew up in the CONUS and were spending a short time working there in Munich.
