Good points, but it sounded like from the article that Leer wasn't facing reductions with the extensions (though he probably took a reduced contract in 2014), but was expecting a boost because he ran a decent 1500.I think these athletes live in such an insulated world that they don't understand the business and reality. He feels entitled, even when he had signed a contract. Leer is no young kid anymore and behaved badly in all this. He throws his agent under the bus and makes him part of this conspiracy when its pretty clear that he can't win a legal battle or social media campaign. I think his agent was giving him good advice.And this stuff about that he thought the extension had to be mutual is just nonsense; extensions are clearly the option of the paying party (and I'm sure it clearly states this). Otherwise there is no need to have the extension defined as an option in the contract if it is mutual decision.Folks here are also talking about $15K/yr, but the article never said that was his amount so those dots shouldn't be connected.
