Are you???
Are you???
I'm really hoping to go sub 30 this year. Got six water bottles strapped to my fanny pack this time.
Relax, Francis. They are enjoying themselves and don't affect you one bit. In fact, be glad for them. They make up the majority of the race participants. Without them, you wouldn't have any road races.

Yes. My garmin is charged and ready to go. I plan on laying around and watching TV all weekend to rest up for the big day! Then drinking a lot!
Yeah, put in a shit ton of miles in June, am totally exhausted and beat down, but I'm taking the weekend off should be perfect by Monday. I believe a PR is possible at this point, and I just crossed over to a new age bracket, so I'll be competing against all new guys who should be 4 to 5 years older than me. Should be able to get a first in my age group this race.

I'll meet you in the beer garden. I'll have on the neon yellow hoka one ones with pink compression socks.
SUB 30, REPRESENT!
No. Your post made me understand how ordinary and contemptible it is to engage in celebration/small town/fitness ritual for a charity cause.
I've made the wise decision to skip the 5K race to benefit veterans. Instead, I plan on remaining in my Mom's basement and enjoying the central air conditioning. From time to time, I'll post on LRC about my times and my foot problems. With any luck, Mom will have roast beef and some of those good kettle chips.
Sadly, no. Parental duties mean saving a spectating spot on town's parade route by 5:30 a.m., shuttling a vehicle to parade finish, and getting marching-band kid to parade start by 9, then picking him up at the parade finish.
Will be walking or cycling the equivalent of a 5k doing those things, though.

Skilled trolling requires a little more effort than merely typing the words 'hobby jogger' into a subject window. Get your shit together.

Well my wife and I certainly are ready to run.
4 bottles in her UK fanny already. Nigel Farrage's bottle up my US fanny already.
Happy independence day!
Davy, why not make it a roadtrip through Europe? Take your time, you will be having plenty of it soon!
Cheers mate!
I plan to start my training plan this Saturday, taper on Sunday and should be ready to go come Monday for my marathon 10K. Wish me luck!

I you are in the 300lb+ weight bracket, then I highly suggest cutting the last 1/2 mile of the course. Then you can get that coveted sub-1 hour 5K badge. Good luck!
Ignorant post.
Everyone after their last competitive race becomes a hobby jogger, or they quit.
You are all so WONDERFUL!!!!
I'm so HAPPY for you!!!
We're all winners!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you all!!!! :) :) :)
I'm feeling great. I've got my yasso's planned for today and tomorrow. So I can peek on Monday. My goal is top 10 in my age group and age grading of at least 80%.

God that sounds like a horrible 4th of July.

Can't you put a sign up on the parade route that reads "Reserved for the Winner of the "Flagtown" Independence Day 5k," go run the race, bring your medal with you to claim your spot and watch (and listen to) your kid play American Patrol as he marches by?
