What's the difference between the Takumi Sen and the Takumi Ren?? Anyone know?

The Adios boost is awesome, the only major issues being the price and the frail upper mesh really.
I don't know about the Sen/Ren line but the Hagio does the job for me and don't have any of that boost nonsense. The hagio is that no bs simple fast racing flat which for some reason Adidas didn't felt like marketing too much.
Which is good because the price is like 35% of the adios as a consequence. A great choice in my opinion for mile-half marathon.
I have just bought the takumi and are awesome , the first impression is superb but after 3 or 4 times to run with the takumis I injured my posterior tibial. I was quite surprised becuase i ran with the adios 2 few years ago and did not suffer of anything. my weight is 72.4kg. I'm feeling quite nervous before using it for the training runs.
The Sen have a much lower heel to toe drop compared to Adios. Adios are 9mm Sen only 4 mm I think. This will obviously have a much higher impact on your foot and Achilles for that matter. Try to move into the Sen through the Ren which have a slightly higher drop.
I absolutely love the Sen's for 10k down and any speed work shorter than 2 mile repeats. They're comfortable, light, responsive AND plush, and last for quite a while (I've owned mine for two years and am just now about to replace them). I would not recommend them for anything longer than a half marathon though since they're so light and low profiled. For long tempos, halfs, marathons, long intervals, and faster runs, I would absolutely choose the adios since there's more shoe and support but still are light and responsive. Just not as light or responsive as the Sens.
The Ren is very similar to the Sen but with a little higher drop (still less than the other adidas shoes) and a little more forefoot cushioning. Also, a little heavier.
I think that the Ren is adidas' best marathon shoe and don't know why they don't market and sell them in the US. I don't like the Adios at all for anything longer than 13 miles (but Im racing a half or less then I prefer the Sen). I get tired and sore feet with the Adios as they have the least forefoot cushioning of all the adidas boost shoes. Why not get a snappier, lighter, and more forefoot cushioned shoe in the Ren? If you are a heel striker, then I can see how the Adios would be a better choice.
Im not sure what it says about the perception of the US market when the Boston Marathon pamphlets are pushing the Ultra Boosts and their best marathon shoe isn't even for sale in the US.
Piggybacking on this thread, I thought the non-boost Sen 2 was better than the boosted Sen 3. Sen 2 just somehow felt more responsive.
Any Adidas product folks know what the next iteration of the Sen/Ren will be like?
I'm up to 700 miles in my Takumi Sen 3 2015. Still got a bit of quick-strike left on the sole, although the eva bit has split (which happened at 200 miles but hasn't got any worse). It got a new pair of the 2017 (very minor differences) for the Milton Keynes Marathon and got a PB (first time under 3 hours). I do a lot of my training in them, on and off-road (they are great in the dry on trails). I generally run in 4-6mm drop shoes and find I can't use adios any more due to the higher heel. I'm a forefoot/midfoot style. I also did a 50 mile trail run on the South Downs Way in them.
I am looking to buy the takumi sen 3, any color, in sizes 10.5 (my natural size), 11 and 11.5, so I can try on all 3 sizes and return the two that don't fit. Any idea where in 2017 October one can buy these sizes of the Sen 3 that allows returns (Rakuten Global doesn't do returns; Adidas website sold out; Amazon and ebay don't have these sizes).
Thanks!
Adidas official eBay had them recently. Free domestic both ways
I can't see how people could run a marathon in the Adios, just seems like a 5k shoe. Never tried on a Takumi Sen.
SDW in Sen is impressive!

If you´re an elite runner, Adios is a typical marathon shoe. Moderately lightweight, somewhat cushioned and 10 mm drop.
Also looking to get a hand on a pair of Takumi Sen.
I am a 8.5 in the Boston, and I was wondering if I should get the same size or if a 8 would fit. (I was wearing a 8 in the Nike Zoom Streak, only other flats I ahve ever purchased).
Size 8 is the only available on RW right now.
Does anyone know if a running store in NYC have them? (Highly unlikely but who knows).
Otherwise, I am going to London for Thanksgiving so might try them in a store over there and buy them if I can find them, as I see they are available on the UK Adidas store and might be more popular there.
how is the fit? wrote:

Not going to work.
I went up a full size. I'm usually 11.5 in most shoes (including the old non-Boost Adios) but needed 12.5 in the Takumi Sen. I bought online, trying a half size up first. But I decided it was worth spending the $15 return shipping to get it a full size up.
Thank you for your reply, I'll try to find them in London then when I go visit there.
If you get the REN you get the best of both worlds... a bit more cushioning than the Sen and lighter than the Adios...
I got Takumi Sen from RW. They're an amazing shoe. Your foot just disappears in them. They feel better than the Adios IMO. All the comments about post tib here seem bogus. It's minimal shoe, but very responsive. I use the shoe for 20 mile runs. If you slam your foot down like you might with super plush shoes, yeah maybe. 145 pound runner here.
Adios is still a good shoe. I can't handle the Boston, FWIW. Too clunky.
I injured my posterior tibialis with your company's shoe.
