JW is down to 18th place now. Epic bonk.

Walmsley with one mile to go... surprised he's sticking it out. It took hike like 5 hours to go these ten miles.
JW has 1.25 miles left
JW has made it Robie Point running at a 28 minute pace.
20 minute pace is bonking 28 minutes is I don't give a **** anymore
I think he wanted to DNF after he got lost but everyone made him finish it out. I agree 30 min pace is hobbling off quad cramps (very likely) or you don't care at all and are avoiding finishing.
Crappy thing is I know we'd love to see him take another shot at the CR next year but finishing out of the top 10 he's back to a lottery entry. No guarantee he'll get another chance next year. Which sucks.
Based on his final splits and reported behavior, sounds like you're spot on.
Jimbo in 19th and should be finishing any minute now.
he hustled it in with a smile and a pacer - better late than never!
JW 20th place. Got beat out by one more runner by 30 seconds or so. But he's finally done.

Frickin clown show.
I think it´s a lot worse watching 87 identical Africans running 25 laps around a track.
That's racist!
Thanks for this. Sounds like he was fine at the point he went of course, and he just didn't hang on to the rope at the river crossing. A lot of unlucky things conspired to take away what would have been a mind-bending performance
Walmsley missed his chance to auto-qualify w/ a top ten finish, but he'll show up somewhere and easily grab a golden ticket (1-2 finish) before WS 2017.
Sage's finish looked so sad, I almost cried. You'll get it next year, Sage!

That's a pretty classy interview after all that went down. I think Jim's a good guy, and I can't wait to see what race he chooses to do next.
I'm disappointed for Walmsley and hope he comes back and finishes the job. Looking at his splits, he definitely wasn't falling apart before getting lost, but in all likelihood his finishing time would have been at best a slight improvement on the course record. Krar closed the final 10 miles the last two years in 1:38 and 1:39, and ran miles 80-90 in 1:22 both years compared to 1:34 for Walmsley yesterday. The fastest split ever from Brown's Bar to the finish was Tim Olson's 1:32 during his CR after running 80-90 in 1:25. At 12:57 through 89.9, Walmsley was looking at a 14:40-14:50 finish.

I must have missed his finish. Thought he was still out there.
