Thank you for posting the article from RW. Much more depth in that article. The Flotrack article only discussed the suggested vitamin injections, which alone is not much of a story. DT addresses that in the 2nd article, admitting that he never witnessed anything illegal, but knew intuitively that something was not right. Similar, like you mentioned, to the situation with Steve Magness. Fortunately they were able to get irrefutable evidence in this case.
DT mentions another athlete that got him involved with the investigation. Any idea who that is?
Considering what they found in the hotel, it's amazing that none of Aden's athletes ever tested positive. Kills the last sliver of faith I had in the testing process.
We only know a bit about this story. Torrence, by his own account, is a smaller player in this. This is not an NOP story. This is a story about a prominent member of the most successful family in distance running being caught up in a situation where her coach appears to have been caught red-handed. I am surprised that there is not more interest in this on this site and board. What could this mean a About the Dibaba family? People are tracking Mo's Instagram from 2014 but not making a big deal about the fact that 3 Dibabas were in Sabadell when the raid happened. Also, there are a lot of differences with how the NOP story played out. In particular, Salazar's rebutted several key points. NOP could still be dirty but why are we talking about that? That story from last year was about Rupp and did not implicate Farah. Farah is the only NOP runner ties to Aden.
End off, no more story,, all was sit-up unfortunately wasn't happy ending for haters.. Case will be close soon , some of jama squad ran yesterday in Bilbao , business as usual .
I think in 2013, USADA would have been a better first choice than WADA.Up until 2015, WADA was not in the game of receiving whistle blowers, and not funded nor authorised for these kinds of investigations. There role was making standards, certifying labs, and auditing NADO's, leaving the messy work of dealing with individual athletes to the NADO's and international federations. Recall in 2005, after the publication of "Le Mensonge Armstrong" by "L'Equipe", WADA's reaction was not to investigate further, but to pressure the UCI to manage their athlete.Similarly with the Stepanovs, they weren't quite sure what to do, and their only authorised choice was to forward the complaint back to the organisation charged with managing the athlete. This is not an attempt to clear WADA. Dick Pound's assessment agains the IAAF Council can be equally to WADA -- WADA showed no appetite to address this problem.

In hindsight, it would have been much better if he'd set up a sting operation. He should have gone to WADA - well that's who I would have gone to (but then again we found out now they might have been corrupt) and done a sting.
If this was happening this year, I'd go to Travis Tygart. Tell him, "Hey I joined this group and they want me to take vitamins. I think they are drugs." What do I do?
no, you are very wrong and clearly cannot read very well. Torrence mentions several times that there are things he saw and or heard that he could not talk about as it is an ongoing investigation or simply chose not to disclose at this time. he is more intelligent than you

This is one of Aden's people writing this. Though, I'm sure you all realize that.
However, it appears we don't get proof without a raid.

Yes, which is the major reason why I am strongly in favor of the Spanish/German/Italian etc. laws, where doping, or administering doping is considered a crime. This is also the reason why IAAF and WADA continue to oppose this: they want to remain in charge and decide, who gets caught/convicted/banned and who doesn't.
That 's part of it, and beyond this, there is NO RECOURSE for the athletes.
If falsely accusing was a crime and went through the legal system, the athletes could defend themselves, and then could sue big time for damages.

Wrong. Making false accusations with no evidence is called being stupid, not being intelligent. Try using your brain.
Big Wave Dave - I remember when he'd post his race kit for USAs back then, and when Lopez Lamong went way too early as he mis counted laps. DTRunThis went with him and buried himself on the last lap.
RIP.
Wasn't around for the downhill mile but sounds legendary.
Someone using the same handle posted here yesterday. Creepy to think the people who may have murdered him are still posting here and threatening others.
Just to be clear - David Torrence was still alive (as is evident from posts after this) when the poster made this threat, and somebody using the same handle posted in another David Torrence thread here yesterday.
Not quite. That was the body of the message posted by an anonymous poster using former Nike exec John Capriotti's name. Cap was know to be ruthless, so I assumed it more likely to be a troll saying what we would imagine Cap would say.
Should have kept quiet like Shelia Reid after Pre.
