Most of you are crazy. I used to work in a call center and spoke to people everywhere. Most annoying has to be New Jersey/Philadelphia. I used to dread talking to people form these regions because many buy into some regional thing that goes along with the accent of being rude for no reason. As mentioned earlier, it was especially grating when it was a woman.
I can see how Boston/MA could get to some people, but some of the tradesmen up there were just so salt-of-the-earth/kind it really doesn't bother me.
I never ran into it on the phone, but that fake SoCal accent mentioned is ridiculous.
