In 2012 two 400 runners medalled at WJs (1st & 3rd) and made the Olympic final. The Cuban and the Aussie.
They both were probably HS champs too. It doesn't mean that's on par with the OG.
Didn't Nigel Amos and Tim Kitum medal at WJrs in 2012 before also medaling at the Olympics. Running both didn't seem to hurt them. Mind you they didn't have OT trials to contend with - well Kitum did have the Kenyan trials, but they must be easier than the US OT.

Brazier should run both or only the OG's. But not only the junior champs. That's like Drew Hunter choosing to race the JV championships over varsity.
Olympic finals in my opinion.
I know you're just answering the question, but a lot of folks here seem to think Brazier's a lock for top 3 at the US Olympic Trials. I'm not so sure.

I think he is too, if he runs. 1:43 form. Runs smart & excellent finisher.
He'd have to get tripped or in a prelim caught napping to not make it.
Olympics
Winning a World Junior title would no doubt be amazing but to be in a Olympic Final is so prestigious to its notoriety, significance and just the fact an Olympic final is composed of the best athletes on Earth.

Haha!
If you're talking an 8 man final event like the 800, the Olympics. Brazier is probably at his peak right now, so thinking about how he'll do in the Olympics (two months away) or even the Olympic Trials (one month away) is very premature.
I wish that USATF would grant an exception to the qualifying procedure and give him an automatic spot on the junior team, freeing him up for the trials. If he did make the olympic team then world juniors would be great practice for the big stage.
Agreed. 2000 and 2004 never World Jr.
Who in track circles, nevermind the public, remembers winners and placers of World Junior championships?
Just making an Olympic team confers tremendous status, not only in the track world but later on in business. Being an Olympian looks GREAT on a resume and will open doors. You will get an interview if for no other reason than they want to meet you. If you are a professional in private practice, it also helps. Being an Olympian is an honor that stays with you always.
A difficult decision for him, but I think he should go for the Olympic team.
... But then again, none of us here know what we're talking about.
well not everyone 2000 2004 not US

Donovan Brazier winning got me thinking
he is likely to be the hot hot favourite for world juniors title.
however, despite being the #3 man in the world right now, his lack of experience in international matches might hurt his chances of medalling (perhaps at best, the bronze meda) but his chances of hitting Olympics finals seems palatable
Hence, Which is more prestigious: winning the World Juniors or reaching the Olympics Final?
For me, making the olympics title is for sure much more prestigious. World junior title is cool and all but in a grand scheme of things, it does not really matter
The World juniors 800m can be super competitive, I would say he should win a medal, but I am not sure he is the "hot favorite for the world juniors title". Kenya has the ability to put forth whatever type of athlete needed to win. Perhaps they would have sent at 1:45x type, now it will certainty be an athlete capable of 1:43x.
Theoretically he can do both.
WJrs are one week BEFORE the Olympics so he will have time to rest and will still be in "peak" condition.
It just means he will get in a little bit more racing before the year is out.
Someone mentioned experience - you do not need experience to win, just cross the line first.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
