It is not that it is nothing. It is just a level a performance that does not justify any use in visiting a medical doctor to take PEDs.
The world record for the marathon age 40+ is 2h 08 min, Bernard Lagat age 41 has ran 27 4x for 10k this season and may well go much faster.
Believing that you just have to dope to run 2h 34 for a marathon in that age group is just ridiculous as it is nowhere near top levels of masters performances. A ton of improvement beyond a 2h 34 min marathon can be made by training and injury prevention measures (mobility, appropriate strength work) before even thinking about having to resort to doping.
