By chance do you mean "patheTic?"
You are such a looser.
You're gonna be very successful one day!!
Look, I've seen people arrange for business seminars in Las Vegas, and wouldn't you know it, the rest of their family happen to be in Las Vegas at just that very same time!
With a wink from the boss.
I saw one lady bring back overtime computations for time spent in an airport and it was written on "Circus-Circus" stationary....that was OK.
The smokers spend hours at their designated areas smoking..that's ok.
Well, in short, if you are not liked, reasons are easily available.....Why do you think they call some reactions to it "going postal"
Sue your employer for invading your privacy. Contact the ACLU, your personal rights were obviously violated.

LMFAO it always kills me when I read about some 135lb wimp acting like he's the biggest badass in town.
And it slays me whenever some clydesdale assumes that fat = bad.
First, I want to thank all of you whoh have offered helpful thoughts. This is not easy, even in a situation where I did not like my job. Monday is going to be a tough day since this was my first real job and I still live with may parents.
I have not told them yet and am not sure how to do that. I do not want to tell them today and am thinking of telling my dad just before he goes to work on Monday. That way he will not be able to rip on me too much. That might not be too cool so my other thought is to just pretend to go to work for a while and hang at a friends or the library till I grow the stones needed.
I will keep you posted.

i hope that was a joke. if it wasn't, then you are.
I lost my job once and hung out at the library for over a month before I got another job. I had enuf savings set aside so my wife never knew. When I got the job I just told her I got a new job.
No need to tell anyone now. Just work hard at getting a new job.
I feel your pain.
I decided not to tell my parents and left for work today just like always. I am at the library where I have ionternet access and plan to read a book. I am also going thru the papers looking for a job.
Since being here I have learned:
1) the library does not have "Once a Runner;"
2) old people come to the library to play chess; and
3) some of the books smell funny.
Bump
You live with ur parents? I predict u don't get laid for a very long time...if at all.

Not true. My bedroom door opens to the outside and my gf can get in anytime she wants without my parents knowing.
I did tell her this weekend and she is standing by me like the class act she is.

This is a great post...
1) OP has no legal rights. Almost certainly he was an ati-will employee that can legally be fired for any reason.
2) What he was doing wasn't that bad. If he was avoiding work or billing hours spent on letsrun, that's not ok. But if he did his job, did everything he was asked to do, and did it well, there's no reason why he should be fired for internet surfing. If you are doing the work you were hired to do, why does it matter if it takes you 4 hours/day or 8 hours / day?
Since I am at the library, I figured I may as well read something. I can not surf the net as they only have 2 computers and they have a 30 minute limit. This limit applies even if no one is waiting for it. How stupid is that? So after 30 minutes you need to go sign up again.
There is a whole rack of cliffs notes and so I figure I will read as many of them as I can. It's like reading a book w/o having to read the book. Now I know all sorts of things about books I never read, cuz now I have - sort of.
I am thinking about calling my boss and asking for my job back. Does this ever work?
I would ask for your job back if you want it. Let them know that you made a mistake and that it won't happen again. Then follow through if they let you back.
Good luck.

I will probably call him tomorrow. Tonight I might call a buddy and see if he thinks our boss will let me back. I might ask him to feel our boss out on it.
I checked with the librarian and they can get the ONce a Runner book on inter-library loan.
Have you told your parents yet?
