The women's race was fantastic. Relative unknown comes from behind to beat former world champ. This reminded me of watching Chris Solinsky's breakout 10k. Outstanding event.

Where should we run this event if we did it in the US?
Last year's Flotrack Throwdown was a similar idea and I thought it was a lot of fun. However I heard that people who lived near the track complained about the noise, even though this was in the city. Thanks, America.
Also, the problem with most US tracks is that they are on college campuses.
Meh. Sounds like an American idea. The "I can't be entertained unless I can stuff my fat, lazy, anti-intellectual face" sort of idea.
It was awesome!!!
We watched the first 4 races from the finish line, but moved into the bar for the big 2.
The atmosphere was electric!
A crazy MC, Carnival dancers, break dancers, beer, cheering from the third lane!
It was superb!!!
I've been a track fan for over a decade and never been to anything like this before
More of the same please

The women's race was one of the best women's races I have ever seen. Fantastic running and drama with great commentary.
Jess Andrews who won the women's race ran her 5k and 3k PBs enroute to a 90 sec PB ftw. This strike anyone else as odd?
This is just like cyclocross and why CX is so awesome. For my LR brethren (and sistren) go watch any major cyclocross race on YT and you'll see the imbibing crown right there next to the course "in the action." It would even be better in running for a short-course cross country route (~ 2K in length) with multiple heats. This is not a new idea. Just do what cyclocross does and have a blast.
Even the racers drink in cyclocross:
errr no, a young girl who has raced 1 10km and a couple of 5kms makes a breakthrough. What are you thinking is 'odd'?
Something in the water down there in Spain.
Ummmm no. 24 year old with an extensive history going back to juniors beats get 3 and 5k PBs while beating the NCAA champ as well as a WC medalist.
Lives in Spain, girlfriend of pro cyclist- yup nothing to see here cause we all know Brits don't dope lol
Oh and hilariously Jenny Meadows has never heard of her
I hate sports sometimes

You forgot, will get lapped in RIo by a number of super clean (and it wouldn't work anyway) athletes.
Wouldn't you be more worried if she'd run 30:30 or something.
Meanwhile in Manchester.........
Haha is that the basis of your anti African rants? That they are faster than the top Brits??

Not at all.
I've never been one to use 'sharp improvement' as an indicator of doping.
Coming from a country that barely get properly tested and surrounded by people who know their way around a vial of EPO is more of an issue.
Not that I care, the sport was ruined a long time ago. Remember when people cared about the World Cross? Why do you think nobody does anymore?

It's not an Olympic Trials. Its an Olympic selection race. At an Olympic trials, all 3 athletes for a given event are chosen. Since Farah isn't running and is obviously going to run in the Olympics, this makes it a selection race, not a trials.
No they don't necessarily pick the first three in any event. This was the official trial for 10,000.
