This is a great idea.
Where should we run this event if we did it in the US?

The beer 10k. Might be the only way to save the 10k from Olympic extinction.

Bourbon Street. During Mardi Gras.
It's not an Olympic Trials. Its an Olympic selection race. At an Olympic trials, all 3 athletes for a given event are chosen. Since Farah isn't running and is obviously going to run in the Olympics, this makes it a selection race, not a trials.
There was a cyclocross race (skinny-tire bicycle race on dirt with barriers you have to dismount and run over and other crazy stuff) that went through a beer tent. Pretty sweet idea actually.
The Beer Mile World Classic will be in London this year, as well at Allianz Stadium:

I am glad you guys managed to prop it up Rojo.... I did post about this yesterday but got swallowed in between the all-day trolling....
Btw i am one of the guys organizing this event ...
I knew Bedford had to be involved in this one. Great idea and something different to jazz up 25 laps.

I ran for Highgate Harriers for 11 years, without doubt the best athletics club in Britain!
It is the Olympics trials. the first two will be selected if they have the qualifying time.
Are they trying to say that the PBs on the startlist are more "bar" material? A bunch of low-28min guys huffing around like heats 2 and 3 of NCAA guys at Stanford?
this is completely awesome.
more please
Did anyone watch the men's race? Who won it. The women's race looks great - except it's windy as hell!!!

Is anyone depressed besides me? There are only 2,500 people watching it live on line. At least it looks like they have that many people there in person.

We wanted to prop it up more but got busy last week. Thankfully tom bedford emailed me.
Having your race at the same time as the FA cup final doesn't help if a huge online/TV audience is your goal.

Funny as even I was watching that game. You'd think they'd do it on another night.?
I thought the commentating wasn't great. They didn't do a good job of telling you who was battling it out for 2nd or 3rd and the camera only focused on the top runner.
Kate Avery was the third Brit so she'll have to keep her fingers crossed.

Vernon cracked but none of the first 4 got the OQT so the top 2 Brits have a few weeks to get it somewhere else (Millington and Griffiths). There was also a Spaniard Perez in between them and Vernon.

It was quite difficult to follow in the dark with lapped runners and also the international girls.
Great event Brits. I did miss the men's race myself as I watched like the 4th English football game of my life. My brother is CP fan.
