can you give us a link to the page on www.mensracing.com page? i'm sure it's the same course as in '02.
No pics but I can describe the basics for you. Ft. Vancouver is a gently rolling course and is entirely grass. It is a public park so don't expect perfect golf course type footing. If they lay it out like 2002, there is a tight hairpin turn around a grove of trees at about 1200 meters on each loop that produces some bunching. There is a longish hill at the end of each 2K loop about 250-300 meters long and is about a 3% grade.
We have had a dry winter here in the Northwest. There was a good soaking rain on Saturday (about an inch) but it is expected to be dry, sunny, and in the upper 40's to low 50's for the rest of the week. Right now there is a chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday. Expect at least a stiff breeze coming off the Columbia River. The weather was similar in 2002 but the multiple races made some sections very muddy and slippery on Sunday.
It's not entirely grass, you have to cross a road twice on each loop, so very minimal pavement. The grass is thick, the ground is uneven, and it does get muddy on the bottom of the course. Conditions should be fair for everyone. For those that care, it is fairly spectator friendly as well.
Good catch - I forgot about those.
Weather update for those of you running XC Trials this weekend:
Saturday - light rain and rain showers, high 48 low 40
Sunday - partly cloudy, high 46 low 37
