What's happening to Colete Liss? Saturday she looked out of shape and heavy. The last 800 she fell apart and appeared to struggle. And is she still with Nike?

her slow pace at the beginning of the race ruined it for everyone collegiate in the race too. Of course, they should have gone by her. I just didn't understand why she would sprint to the front to jog.
didn\'t she win?
Yea, she won. But who knows why did what she did...kind of a weird bird. A few years ago it looked like she was going to have a bright future, but she has digressed. Her racing tactics are always changing... as if she has no plan of action, or at least no intelligent plan. I'm not sure if she is being coached since she has left the Invders. Anybody know?
she was put in the race to ensure a good pace. she wouldn't have been let in otherwise. everyone in the field was told she was more or less an unofficial rabbit. the nd womens coach was so pissed that she dogged the first 800, as if asking someone esle to lead, that he said she can never come back. she totally screwed the race and caused a lot of girls to waste energy bumping around and jockeying for position.
a few years ago she ran 858 at meyo, this time she was 20s slower.
I don't blame the Notre Dame for being upset! No doubt that she should have set the race up for colligate runners to hit NCAA qualifiers. It is a act of goodwill to our sport. Her acts of selfishness is unexcusable. Again... is she being directed to race like this? Or is she a loose cannon?
whatever happened to people going out and racing on their own! there were over 20 girls in that field most with mid9:30 credentials or potential.
They would have done that and been fine but they were under the impression the pro was there to do the work. If you're told you have a rabbit, you don't go out faster than her.

You do if she can't hold the pace...
If she went out in a jog in the first 800m, and died the last 800m how did she win by 9 seconds? I don't like her, but if she ran that bad it is surprising to see she ran so much faster than everyone.Maybe Coach B laid the pipe beforehand.

I wasn't there but from the sounds of it, Liss should be much better than the field assembled at Notre Dame; so winning by 9 seconds ain't that great! We'll have to see how she performs in cross country. Albeit, a weak field. But, if you're asked to do a favor...do it! I don't think anybody told her to throw the race, but I've seen her coach, looks like a child molester that stepped out of the gutter. Where did this guy come from?
