Thanks for your useful comment. Very few people outside of Virginia knew anything about Alexander Lomong and Brandon McGorty prior to this race. Back to your hole now.

I think it is pretty safe to say that no Hs'er has ever gone 1:48.x and 8:43.x 3200 same day double?
Probably every week at St. Patrick's.
So clever ,oh so clever

Colin Campbell of Ventura HS only competed in a couple of 800m races, but ran 1:51.2 to win Arcadia back in 2005. He also ran 47.9 for 400m. As a freshman and sophomore he was a sprinter/jumper and had PBs of 6'4" HJ, ~21' LJ, and ~44' TJ. In college he switched to discuss due to injury issues and had a PB of 188'5".
Switched to discuss what?
Not really. He's a great talent, don't get me wrong, but he's nothing extraordinary at the mile. Check out the Penn Relays Mile:

Does anybody have another link we could use???? I'm not paying 'Mile-$hit-slit-network' anything to watch this! They're charging while putting up other stuff for free - 'F' that selfish $hit!!
Woah, Lomong stumbles towards the end of the first lap. He could have had this race
Still no video?
Wow. Thanks!
Hunter cut right in front of Lomong at 350 meters and should have been DQd for that.

Slagowski ranked 4th US HS all of a sudden...
Well, Slagowski ran his without competition. He'd have beaten all three of these guys easily

Saw that too! Not sure it was strategically intensional but things got really f'ed on the turn. That finish was awesome though. I love how Hunter puts his head down and shifts gears - never gives up! Loomong was the Man as well just would not let go of either of them! McGorty knew he had to take it out if he had a any chance in hell and he had just enough gas to hold it together till the end. His look around with about 20 meters to go was necessary but cost him a few 10th's of a second - you break stride to that and you can loose the lean at the tape. Awesome race though - man that was exciting!
Mcgorty was alone the entire race so id take him any day
