Several people called her mediocre and posted the ever-popular Letsrun "Who?" on threads discussing Pappas' decision to run for Greece. Now she's turned in a nice 31:46 at Payton Jordan. Will this be enough to make her an Olympian?

Apparently it ranks her 5th among Greek women with the Oly standard, so still a maybe.
Just kidding. A Greek NR by 30 seconds should be enough to make her an Olympian, yes.
Huh. I had no idea Greece had such depth. That's impressive. I'm not sure if I feel better or worse about her plan to try to represent the country based on that information. Were she the only woman with any chance at all of making the 10,000m standard for Greece it would seem sort of cheap to switch like that. On the other hand, if she ends up knocking out someone who's lived there all her life and who's had a Greek Olympic dream through a decade's hard work, well that's tough too.
Ah, well played.

Has she started doping? (to become more Greek)
Who?

You thought you were being funny/clever. You weren't, just incredibly stupid. Greece has a rule about being in the top X in the world. Setting a NR is irrelevant.
She could always qualify via the back door.
She is actually very cool and extremely nice/humble. I was able to meet her at the Camel City Elite meet and she was kind to my daughter.
So people can be mean, but I wish her the best. Obviously I would like to see her run for the USA but if she has dual citizenship than I hope she can make the Hellas team.

No, she isn't humble. Anyone who spent two seconds on her twitter knows this. Greece won't send her unless she runs a much higher standard.
That batshit cray cray chick can actually run? Good for her. Still crazy though.

I don't know why you want to be a childish antagonist but she's in. She has met the olympic standard for women in the 10,000 meters after declaring herself a greek athlete and will represent Greece in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
She will also star in "Tracktown" the movie set to premiere in LA on June 4, 2016. It is going to be a pretty good summer for Alexi.
I bet Jordan Hasay wishes she could claim Czech citizenship or anywhere??

I'm sure she does wish it and it is not as if she has the luxury of choice, but after finishing behind Alexi and five other American women this weekend, she has a ways to go and a short time to train for her dream in 2016.
What is going on in this picture of her

She's dripping with sweat and/or has dumped water over herself to try to cool down.Although I suspect you weren't really looking for an answer so much as applause for your middle school humor.

Are you sure about this? Lots of countries do as the poster above mentioned, set higher standards. Canada has screwed its developing athletes more than a few times saying they can't go even if they're national champions and have met the Olympic standard.

Well do you want to believe a message board troll or maybe have some faith that an Ivy League grad with a masters degree that is represented by professional management might just have had a clue as to what was going to be required of her before making her declaration to represent Greece?
