Metric miler, I can't continue to read something completely not true, without intervening. You are one of people continuously liying about the Kenyan antidoping, I don't know if because you don't know (and in this case you must try to know the truth) or because you, such as some other poster, has already in your mind an idea created by media mistakes, and refuse to chenge opinion.
I explained several times that IT'S TRUE KENYAN (DOMESTIC) ANTIDOPING DOESN'T WORK (also if, for example, Rita Jeptoo was caught in an OOC test in Kenya, and Mathew Kisorio in a test IN competition during National Championships, Always in Kenya).
But this fact doesn't mean ALL THE BEST KENYAN ATHLETES ARE NOT TESTED. WADA and IAAF testing pool tested, in 2015, 135 kenyan athletes (making the number of tested athletes the HIGHER in the world), of course testing ALL the athletes who were in whereabouts (athletes in top 20 in the World). This means that athletes like Asbel Kiprop, or Jairus Birech, or David Rudisha, or Silas Kiplagat, or Faith Kipyegon, or Geoffrey Kamworor, were tested from 5 to 8 times OOC, plus of course again 5-10 times after their competitions.
When we speak about the Marathon runners, the organizers of the Majors (London, New York, Boston, Chicago, Berlin and Tokyo) set aside a consistant fund for testing ALL THE INVITED ATHLETES from 6 to 10 times per year, OOC. These tests are carried out by WADA, using the money of the Majors.
So, continuing to think that ALL THE BEST KENYAN RUNNERS ARE DIRTY is something totally wrong, since they are THE MOST TESTED ATHLETES IN THE WORLD (not important if by the local antidoping, or by WADA or by IAAF : the fact is they are THE MOST TESTED).
Personally, I believe also Makhloufi is clean. He was in Iten 3 and 4 years ago, I saw him working, I spoke with hime several times, and in my opinion he is clean. However, maybe I can be wrong, but this is my DIRECT feeling knowing him.
But, about all the top kenyans, I'M SURE THEY ARE CLEAN. I can't be sure ALL KENYANS ARE CLEAN, since it's a fact 40 athletes were doped during the last 4 years, and probably there is somebody else using PEDs too. However, I again repeat these are all athletes of 2nd and 3rd level, NOT IN TOP 30 IN THE NATIONAL LISTS (so, non testable in any Country by the National Antidoping Agency, because there is NO COUNTRY in the World testing OOC some athlete not in top 30 in the Country, in any event), sometime without any manager, normally without any REAL coach, who started to cheat in domestic competitions, thinking possible to fill the gap they had with the best kenyans competing in the local road races (where now there is some good money), and continued to cheat also abroad, in some competition in Asia or South America, where they supposed there was not doping control.
One week ago I was in London, and spoke for one hour with the responsible of the antidoping in IAAF (Kyle Barber). I explained him that we need to stop this widespread idea that all the best are doped, because it's not true.
But the only way for doing this is what I say from several years : TO CREATE A GROUP OF SCIENTISTS STUDYING THE EFFECTS OF TRAINING WITH THE BEST ATHLETES IN THE WORLD FROM 800m TO MARATHON : athletes born, living and training in altitude.
The general idea of people more "acculturized" who went to study on the "official" books of physiology is based on researches done with athletes of sea level, going in altitude for training for limited time, where the new situation produces a REACTION in the body (generally, but not Always, an increase in the number of RBC). They do the common mistake to "transfer" these data to the top athletes, who, being born, living and training in altitude (for them normal habitat), DON'T HAVE ANY REACTION, BUT ADAPTATION (mainly consisting in increasing plasma volume reducing the viscosity). There are also other factors, that we can see in training, comparing the behavior of top athletes from sea level and top athletes of the highlands.
So, the only way to understand what happens with hard and proper training for THIS CATEGORY OF ATHLETES is to study them, not to transfer WRONG informations from other subjects to them.
Please, quit speak about doping for justifying performances that are not superhuman, but normal for this level of athletes. And ask yourself WHY european and american athletes are no more able to produce the same results of their fellow-countrymen of many years ago.
In Iten, there were the German athletes of 800m Always speaking about "doping of African" athletes. I never saw them training hard : Always easy run using cardio (for what ?), a lot of biking (maybe they wanted to prepare Tour de France...), a lot of gym, and NEVER some real workout.
I told them "You need some lesson about the athletic history of your Country.
Do you know that, in 1965 (51 year ago), one athlete called Franz Josef Kemper, with one kidney only, was able running the European Record of 800m with 1'44"9, when last year the best German specialist ran 1'45"48 and the second 1'46"65 ? Do you know the best in 1500m ran 3'36"05 when in 1980 Thomas Wessinghage ran 3'31"58 and Harald Hudak 3'31"96? Do you know the best in 3000m ran 7'56"81, when in 1965 Siegfried Herrmann bettered the WR with 7'45"2 ? So, why you continue to look, in wrong way, to Kenyan athletes, and don't ask yourself WHY today you are so far from the performances of YOUR OLD FELLOW COUNTRYMEN ? Don't you understand you are limiting yourself with these stupid and wrong ideas ?".
The Kenyan results are not fruit of some doping, but of an AMBIENCE where running is the normality, for several reasons (including the fact if you are a Kenyan and can run fast you can change your life).
I want here to give the info about the level Kenyans in the National lists all time :
800m :
1'42"91 (10) - 1'43"30 (20) - 1'43"56 (30) - 1'43"91 (40) - 1'44"20 (50)
1500m :
3'29"50 (10) - 3'30"46 (20) - 3'31"40 (30) - 3'32"07 (40) - 3'33"16 (50)
5000m :
12'51"00 (10) - 12'54"46 (20) - 12'56"29 (30) - 12'58"94 (40) - 13'01"14 (50)
10000m :
26'49"20 (10) - 26'52"65 (20) - 26'57"36 (30) - 27'04"54 (40) - 27'11"62 (50)
3000m SC :
7'59"08 (10) - 8'05"37 (20) - 8'06"96 (30) - 8'09"54 (40) - 8'12"00 (50)
Half-Marathon :
58'56" (10) - 59'07" (20) - 59'18" (30) - 59'26" (40) - 59"31 (50)
Marathon :
2:04'27" (10) - 2:05'13" (20) - 2:05'49" (30) - 2:06'11" (40) - 2:06'19" (50)
I tell you : try to have the DECENCY not to speak, when you speak about doping of Kenyan (and Ethiopian) athletes you are SHAMELESS, clearly showing YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ATHLETICS HISTORY, but already you have some idea fruit of a BASIC PRESUMPTION we White people are better than Africans. We have more knowledge, more money, more brain (maybe because they are more ignorant, more poor and have less brain they are able to overtake every test, when the acculturized, rich and clever american sprinters are caught for doping ?), so it's not possible that there are 40 runners of one Country faster than the European Record Holder of HM, and about 70 faster than the American Record Holder.
I feel shame for White people like me, because we show, speaking about doping, the WORSE SIDE of our education, and the arrogance to speak about something we don't know.
Sorry, I don't think about "classes" or "categories" : I look at the INDIVIDUALS. And the most part of Kenyan athletes are, by far, very much better than the idiots who continue to lie for not accepting a very simple truth : THE TOP AFRICAN ATHLETES BORN, LIVING AND TRAINING IN ALTITUDE ARE BY FAR VERY MUCH BETTER THAN THE BEST EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN RUNNERS, NOT ONLY FOR THEIR GENETIC ATTITUDES, BUT FOR THEIR MENTALITY : HARD WORK, AND NO EXCUSES.
